If you're a Sgt in the Army you'll be earning 3 job points a day
Assuming you don't log back in at all then you'll continue to acccrue points at a rate of 3 per day because you have to click the button for promotion; it isn't automatic
You have 7 more ranks to go to reach general, which will cost you 205 job points
This will take you 69 days. That's the good news over.
However to reach general you also need to satisfy the requirements of
10000 MAN
2000 INT
4000 END
As a Sgt you accrue these at a rate per day of a whopping
MAN 8
INT 3
END 5
Which means that to reach the threshold required for each one you'll need to wait:
MAN- 1250 days
INT- 667 days
END 800 days
As you already have 247 Manual, this saves you 83 days, meaning you'll need to return in 1167 days, or 3.197 years. Take off the days saved by completing your current course which will be negligible in any event.
Alternatively you could play the game and the Army job can be fast tracked in 41 days if you enter with high enough stats
