The wheel of awesome is NOT where you play pranks. People have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to hit that P.I. and letting them think they finally won, just to take it away is very bad form.
Pranks are supposed to be funny. Pissing people off that bad isnt funny, except to the people that didnt get pranked.
That kind of 'prank' will grow a hatred between you and the players.
I for one, will never forget the absolute contempt i felt in that moment.
