How many eggs are supposed to spawn per year? I found nine last year, but none this year as of right now.

Don't think it's a set number just random but will probably equal out over the years

From what I understand, it's approximately 2 per day, so 12(?) in total. No eggs spawn in the final 24 hours of the event.
The ones you've missed last year (if you've played during Easter event) will also spawn.

I have found 5 eggs just today (2 yellow, 2 white, 1 blue; 2 were on the same page).
seems you only got one last year, so you might be finding some of those if you were active then, just check the exp date before consuming them :p
I found 5 today and I have only been playing for a couple of months so I know mine aren't from last year :)
my gf plays on mobile firefox and uses the egg finder scripts and finds more eggs than i do and seems to be finding them quicker too i been at this for hours with no luck does not help with this dam war :/

You would have always been able to find multiple eggs as they don’t de-spawn and would remain collectable until the final day of the event.
