Adding the context just makes it sad and depressing that this guy would have to make a 6 minute decision on whether or not to retaliate to potential nuclear missile threats
Hypothetically speaking, how long would it take for you to make that decision, if you were president and this happened?
I wouldn't really have a choice. But during that 6 minutes I would be frantically trying to make sure that the intelligence was accurate, and confirmed multiple times. Ultimately, if it was clear that say Russia was launching a nuclear attack against the United States, then I would of course order them to retaliate.
I'll be honest, I can't ever see Russia, China, or the United States/NATO ever launching the first strike. It'd more likely be a place like North Korea, Pakistan, or maybe Iran.
