Why does the Disposal Skill Level reset after failing/going to jail?

Every critical fail removes some of your crime skill. You are failing very often because you are doing a crime that is too hard for you. Id recommend doing the crimes in order left to right top to bottom, getting each one to 100 before doing the next
Disposal is meant to be a mid game crime with even some higher level players getting a lot of fails.

If you get a critical fail you will lose some of your crime skill. I suppose your level is just so low that a fair will také more cs than you have
Have a look at the suggested disposal methods in the guides because there are methods that are far more appropriate and has much higher chance of succeeding.
For example bodies and body parts need to be dissolved
Fire arms and murder weapons need to be sunk
Documents and furniture you have to burn them etc etc
There are uniques linked to the methods which can be good or bad for the disposal ypu need to complete but I would leave those for level 100+ skill so you have low chanve of failing even if the method is suboptimal.

Alright, thank you very much for the info
with the 'suggested methods' you can still fail. sometimes that murder weapon is a 'cricket bat' and it just floats back to the top.
but like Flare(super helpful forum member) said, your 1k total crimes is your main issue.
Read the guides from Emforus, and stick to the first row til you get a couple thousand more under your belt.
