so ched and bogie, while f**king people like this are you going to be givingt reach arounds as well? or just leave them hanging?

Jacquie_Windsor [2742517]

if game cash inflation was too much, they could just regulate that by adjusting the pawn shop price for points.  everybody wins then.  even the "game economist"!

I get that changes need to ne made, but why not announce then at least like 3 days ahead so people can prepare and not let them accidentally discover the update..

Everyone who had investments in points or items is now taking a huge hit and some may not recover, especially some sellers.

thanks for the warning for traders who stockpiled points, definitely not leaving them with their dick in their hands. shitty decision that seems to be mostly f**king pointless, especially in regards to communicating this to players.

This is the exact same bullshit disrespectful shit from chedburn he did with stock changes too. So many got locked in and lost billions.

I find this rather unprofessional.

I want to increase income so players can earn more, this has been heavily requested. To do this, we need more money sinks, and we need to swap out faucets* with p2p trading where possible (I.e. in this case). We also need to start increasing costs that haven't grown with inflation for more than a decade, for example property upkeep. Lots of little changes like this will allow us to start increasing money output to a meaningful extent.

As I've said time and time again, we can't just simply increase monetary rewards. If everyone just has more money, the value of money depreciates, and inflation increases. These basic economics will result in Torn's demise.

I'm tremendously happy to revert this change if that's what the community wants, but you have to understand that if you're going to refuse all of our attempts to achieve what you're asking for, I don't see how we can increase money output. You can't have your cake and eat it, if you want to earn more, you have to accept some compromises.

D3vl [710249]

You dont understand do you, people want a heads up when you do major changes like this. How hard is that to do? Show some respect to your community.

Personally I dont have anything against this, if you want this then fine. Its a bad idea which will hurt the new player base but at least give everyone who are sitting on stockpile of points a chance to cash in before this update goes live.

Now they are all losing money because of this action. How do you justify that?

Senpuu [3226016]

@ bogie how can you implement such a game changing without any forewarning or mention of its implementation?

my only source of regular, valuable income was flying for plushies for the points sellers.. now the rich will stay rich & we have to claw for what? Left overs?

surely there should've been some sort of announcement prior to the event rather than just taking it away..

Matty_h [48911]

So whilst you're reply and you've clearly thought this through with you're economist.

How would you recommend a sub 100 day player makes money with this current change?

SleepIsForWeak [2579797]

the issue isn't with the change, it's with the complete lack of communication, especially in regards to it being right after museum day when there's a very large amount of points in circulation. 3 days of warning would have been much appreciated.

Szanti [2965724]

People need to be consooming, it's the motor of capitalism. People can only consoom a miniscule amount of points/day or drugs/day, can't consoom weapons, can't consoom armor. If people can't consoom, overproduction is going to keep relentlessly driving inflation higher and higher.

Nuke the stock market just for a laugh tho, eat the rich.

Varides [2176530]

The problem with bogie and Ched discussiing this prior to Museum day was they decided not to implement this prior to, allowing players the satisfaction of trading for points, of which many know they can't trade right away since such a big influx occurs.

Then deciding a (un)satisfactory amount of time has passed, they covertly remove pawn shop ability to buy points, allowing players to move into one of the greatest point purchasing events with no knowledge anything is changing, and then completely ripping the rug out from under their feet.

Allowing the players the satisfaction of museum day to just rip their income out from under their feet is callous and uncalled for.

Htr [89581]

no, everyone would have dumped all the points they could

get over it, you can still use your points
