I'm just curious, if a newcomer joins Torn now, what would they rely on to earn PI's rent and Xanx expenses? The visible drop in flight profits, but the price of xan in South Africa did not plummet

Reading the thread it seems people are more unhappy with the lack of communication and sudden changes after a significant event (Museum day) and less so with the actual change - Most people probably agree with you that elements have to change to ensure stability in the economy.

Even if you couldn't divulge the full changes in an update or annoucement, giving people the heads up there will be changes coming imminently regarding points would have at least made people aware.

Changes have to happen but change management is important and seems to be the part that was completely overlooked here

'You have 770,214 points.'

from museum day.

you don't even care how much we lost instead of making profits from your so called 'time to make extra profit event'

dissapointed.

MightyGoober [812478]

I would have liked notice!!!!

18,000 points I bought after museum day, assuming they had a floor price of 45,000.

Let me sell off @ 45k each, and implement the change next week.

Could we just put pawn shop back in for a week to allow players to clear out their held points for not too much loss?

Ceb [68232] Committee Committee

Honestly, i'm interested to see how this plays out for flying.

This isn't really a money sink, it's stopping a faucet which is significantly different- especially when considering the flow and sourcing of points.

I am 100% for money sinks but usually these are created by having slightly better resources for significantly scaled up cost.

If you wanted to remove points being converted to cash directly then creating point sinks that raise their value above the price conversion of cash would have been ideal. The fact there was a floor that was being used is indicative of that resource not being used enough to counter its supply, and that floor already has checks in the way of items that can be sold to shops for cash, creating an alternative money conversion at more desirable ratios for the game.

We all understand that you can't just inject more cash into the game, but why is every f**king change you make a negative impact to our income, and you following it up with some bullshit comment on how you're introducing other income streams for players to benefit from?

How about, instead of just f**king everyone over, when you're making a massive decision that negatively hits your communities pockets, you introduce one of those "planned" income streams at the same time.

Then it's a swap, and not a constant pegging.

Also why is no one answering my Q?

Was the committee informed prior to this update, and what was their point totals before and after being told, thanks.

So I completely understand what you're saying, but I have a counter to one odd statement you have made here.

To maintain a stable economy, we need to control inflation, and this measure is part of that effort. Additionally, to provide further opportunities for you to earn money, we need to introduce more money sinks and ensure that no other major sources of money are being added to the game.

So if this is the intention; what is with the incredibly disproportionate revenue generated by PSFs and why has it been allowed to go on for so long?

Congratulations; you freed up $2,000,000,000,000 of additional income - I wager correcting/spreading income across more companies would free up a lot more - But nobody knows because we're still waiting on Torns armchair economist to release the 2023 Financial report.

Ched taking ques from the Global economy currently.

Taxing everyone to an equal amount, unilateraly destroying the middle/lower class, while barely affecting the upper class, of which they are generally hoarding the wealth to a much larger % than the majority.

Apollyon [445323]

Making sutch impactful changes to traders and new players without any kind of warning or announcement just shows a total disconnection and I would even call it total lack of care for the player base, a bug report should not be how players know of big game changes.

Money value will keep depreciating as long as you can buy billions throw donator packs, if there is anything this consecutive changes that has torn economy been doing is pushing players to spend their real life money more than spending time in the game.

I do understand the need for donator packs to exist as they are the business model that keeps torn alive but slowly leaving it as the last alternative to make money that still values your time is just bad.

this is going to get lost in the drama but did or did not ns leads sell their stack of points early knowing this change was going to happen? Can we look into that, penicillin you little bum , I'm on to you
