Allow us to refill energy, nerve and casino tokens without limit, but it will get increasingly more expensive the more times you do it in a day, resetting at new day. There is WAY too many points in circulation and barely anywhere to spend it on.

Oh no, my flying income D:
On a serious note, stealth changes of this level is serious bs.
Someone did mention how DKK is currently holding on to like 100k+ points and he's committee.
Not to give you any ideas and have the pitchforks in here aimed my way, but shouldn't base property prices rise rather than the upkeep? That'd make more sense, no?
I think people would prefer an increase in a one off spend, than starting to get taxed at a higher rate for the rest of their Torn life.
Can only hope this means OC 2.0 is paying out big cash then.
Seems like our money making ability is built on the corpses of those who just got the shit chedded out of them, my 8,000 points is a relatively light let off.
Would have been better to announce this 2 months ago really, it can't have been *just* decided, surely been on the table for months.
All very well saying to increase money we need to nerf everything first, but how long do we have to wait until we can make money? Just rip those plasters off (that's band-aid for all the Muricans out there) and let's get on with it then. How many more nerfs are we waiting on?
Yeah, I have enough to last me the next 3 years, cool cool. That's why I got into trading, for sure :P
And I don't think there's an issue if they had given a heads up, and people dumped all their points they still had from museum day to the pawn shop right now, we'd then be back at a clean slate for them to make this change and still have the long term effects they want it to have on the economy. One museum day's worth of points still being valued at their previous value wouldn't have a huge impact.
I felt like my hard work this year for Museum Day was a real achievement, most sets I've ever traded in, made a really nice profit. Was also proud of myself for having the self control to trickle them out to the market slowly as it recovered rather than take the quick lower-value route of pawning them. As it is, the entire event will have been a loss instead of profit. I have the nw to absorb it, even though it's still massively disappointing. Many other players don't.
Hi, I'm a new player that relies 100% on flying for income, what tf do I do now other than loss sell which will kill any growth and desire to play Torn
Ched said they are going to increase prices (i.e. upkeep) and removed the source of income from new playerbase. Why don't add the money income changes first then you remove the money sink points? Or at least do it all together
Change it back in a few days after points plummet and then do a sly announcement that only a hand full of people see, buy all the points up cheap on the market and make a killing at the pawn shop. Isn't that usually how the cookie crumbles here? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't see a problem with Torn continuing to make money through DP sales. In fact, I think it's necessary, unless you all really enjoy pop-up ads. Or maybe we would prefer no fungible DP benefits and we are all forced to pay for our subscription. We all enjoy this game, and this game needs money to run. It's been kind of funny to see people all like OMG, busted, Ched wants to maintain his revenue. Well, yeah, duh.
Let's focus on the flip side of this and use all this collective brainpower to come up with more points sinks or flower/plushie sinks, or other ways that noobs can make money by traveling.
I'm still waiting for crimes to be a way to make money: so far many players are going at a loss with Forgery crime.
how to buy puts on PTS?
I like this one LOL "What mitigating factors did you consider?" @chedburn @playerscommitee @bogie
xoxo.
First they came for Cache Farming, and we said nothing. Then, they came for Plushies, and we said "hold the f**k up"...
I don't think that this change is all that bad and I understand the reasoning behind it.
Providing a prior warning would just have people panic sell to the pawn shop and introduce a crazy insane of new money in the game, which is exactly what this change is aiming to stop.
Timing, that's a whole other thing. Doing this just a couple of weeks within the span of museum day was likely the worst idea. I would have stayed clear of like 3 months before and 3 months after the event, knowing just how much points people get on that day. That way people would just buy less items, having a slower effect on the economy and not the panic selling we have now with prices dropping to insanely low prices.
Having said that, the damage is done. Keep it this way. The market will adjust over the next few months.
guess im gonna sit around noobs buying dps to mug their real money
Buy DP's bogie has already said that's a form on income they don't want to take away from players
I guess I better start an OnlyTorn account to fund myself as flying will be pointless lol
I agree with your sentiment but sadly all we are seeing are (plural) sinks.
The only benefits I do see are from rewards which factions receive and not through solo achievements.
I would hate to he a starter in this game now as I can't see how they would ever get a foothold.
I didn't really think the pawn shop was used but clearly it is. I'd never considered the implications of taking it away until now.
Price of points going down is baaaaad. The knock on to traders and frequent flyers is potentially huge. This needs to be balanced by enhanced international market options.
Oh, and doing this not long after Museum day when a lot of players bought cheap, is just cruel.
