Ched nerfed the Points Market. Points used to be sold in game for $45,000 so the price was almost always above that number, a price floor. In order to fight inflation and reduce the amount of cash flowing into the game, the game designers decided to ignore profits from player run companies, stock blocks, stock prices, etc etc etc and take it out on us newer players who still fly for plushies while doing nothing about those with a trillion in net worth 36 stock blocks, billions in stats and the ability to mercenary for big $, and a job or ownership in a 10* company. A lot of people, including long-time players, are not happy about this.
In this game, newer players already must accept the fact that we will never catch up to long-time active players. This adjustment hurts us specifically, on top of the reality that we can never catch up, is a bit much.
There is a recent newspaper article explaining why they decided to reduce cash inputs. What it doesn't mention at all is why they chose to specifically target a/the primary way to earn cash for active lower-level players who will never catch up and have the least amount of cash while ignoring the many other massive and passive cash inputs that the already wealthy have.
This. Pawn shop closed to points sales so people who stockpiled are forced to sell on market, which caused a crash

Cash supply is still artificially propped up in all the many other ways. These include companies, stock blocks, stock prices, bunker bucks price floor, etc etc etc Torn decided to go after the one thing that active level 15+ newer players focus on to get ahead to start to earn a small fraction of the cash inputs provided by the massive passive sit on your but and exploit your dragon hoard wealth generation that long time players rake in.
I can understand the broad concerns about runaway inflation. What I don't understand is specifically targeting the active earning of cash by newer players who are already multiple orders of magnitudes behind. If one wanted to further discourage newer players and increase the wealth gap, then this this move was excellent.
Supply is still being artificially propped up, demand is not, please don't spread missinformation as a mod
yeah the people with literally trillions aren't hurt by points changes or not changes - it's just hurting anyone under 10b wealth (everyone who is new)
Plushies and flowers are down because museums day just happened. Then the market was flooded with points, so they went down. Yes, closing the pawn shop to point sales may have had some effect, but drops in the prices happen every year after museum day.
The real answer.
Every year the market does up before Museum day as people hold, instead of turn in, their sets and then it falls back down on Museum Day as all those sets get turned in. Down to a bit over 45k. Any points that were sold for less than 45k would have instantly be purchased.
So yes, we do see the expected drop to a bit over 45k, the drop that happens every year.
And then we see something new, something that didn't happen last year or the year before that. Something that can not be explained by museum day or regular patterns. And for those that say let's get rid of the price floor and let the free market decide, great, let's be consistent and immediately, remove bunker bucks which put an artificial price floor on ranked war weapons and indirectly the caches they come in. At least that wouldn't target active newer players. . . Also, is the profit from PSF determined by any sort of market supply and demand? Asking for a friend. Stock Block and Bank Interest passive income? Don't those essentially have built-in price floors too?
