its a good change, but yet another thing removed from torn. the next focal point should be christmas town, it definitely puts a large amount of cans into the economy and if it was removed, then a greater reliance on donator packs would ensue
Idgaf if they completely destroy every income stream, I'll never pay more than 3 quid a month for this shit and tbh I have enough donator days to stop doing that for a couple of years.
Casino token refill mugging is random as hell. I don't even bother with it even though I could, since most mugs result in $0 and a waste of your own energy.
Like okay fine you want to remove it but it's hardly an 'exploit' if the data were publicly available on API.
I guess the reasoning behind this is to stop people from being discouraged to gamble, since gambling is a huge money sink for torn. I doubt it is to 'ensure a fair gameplay experience for all' since that would involve either providing everyone with the same scripts and bots, or removing all scripts and bots from all.
It's always funny to see the muggers complain about something like this. This doesn't change the fact that this data is available, y'all just have to put in the work now. Got someone you want to mug? Go refresh their personal stats page.
Exactly. I saw a screenshot of this in the NS server. They tracked high NW players, and people that did a lot of refills. And right now, I'm getting downvoted to all hell. All by NS and PT.

This is a very good change. The use of scripts and bots can give players a huge edge. They have to ensure that the playing field is a little more level.
Scripts should enhance your play, not do it for you. Being pinged when a player refills their casino tokens, and you don't even have to be signed into the game, is obviously overpowered.

I think the key here is that it's removed from public access. you can still script this on your own if you use your own API key.
It's not perfect, but it's a huge improvement over factions scanning hundreds of players for refill notices. Off a few API keys.
Ched really needs to just remove it all together, but I'll take a baby step I guess.
Good move, imo. I'm not against mugging or anything but at some point all these scripts make the game too automated.

Before blaming others of not being able to read, I would suggest going back and reading OP.
splent's announcement clearly states it being removed the from the 'user > personalstats' API selection. Of couse it could very well be removed from the personal stats page in-game as well, but that's not what the announcement by splent is saying.
+ 1 for beginning to end unskilled mugging. (We have a long way to go)

Personal stats are badges of honor. Making them private stops a lot of natural competition among players.

Casino passes are the better indicator for mugging anyways. Everyone in torn could refill for 25 points. Only ones that are spending on casino passes are those carrying good streaks or chasing bad streaks.
Im surprised it never got shared, but somebody got me a while back after a casino pass purchase, im almost proud of them for how good it was-
