SCAMMING

I've seen many posts here about people being scammed and the perpetrators just being proud asf!!  so here's my question!

Is scamming actually just a part of this game???? Like have I been missing out on the fraud side of this crime city the entire time when I could have just scammed people to get ahead ?

Do you think it's not fair for people to scam other people ? Or do you think that's just how the dice roll and plubtastic!

I'm assuming this is a troll, but I'll give you an answer. Scamming is allowed by the rules of the game, but frowned upon by the players. Unless you have stats or a less reputable faction to back you up it's not a great idea as you'll be ostracized by a good portion of the playerbase. Most factions don't want the drama it brings, and it takes a long time to build enough trust to get anything substantial. 

Having dealt with a scammer myself, it was fairly easy to get most factions to ditch them, and we only had to raid one before having everything returned.

Tldr: It's allowed, but not recommended

So like not actually profitable 

Oh it can be profitable, the last big one got somewhere around 100b lol - but you have to be prepared (shit in your bed and sleep in it blah blah blah)

You need to be prepared to weather a bounty storm, as well as having a hard time joining a faction/company (loss of perks) - ofc you can use your scammed money to mitigate this to some extent (run your own comp/fac) but even in those situations, if you pissed off the wrong people there's ways to make running those difficult - but if you keep your head down the heat will eventually go away, though ofc some people can hold grudges for years lol

Scamming will be a part of this game even more whenever Ched decides to release the next crime

It's like being an ahole in real life, you won't go to jail, but might be a problem if you want to sleep at night

Scamming is dumb.
