Look. First off, sorry to hear about your situation.

Secondly, this is an online text game, reaching out on the GD form in Torn is probably the least helpful action you could take.

With that said. The first thing I'd do, is ask the hospital for an audit of the bill. This will start the process for them going line by line on each item and assessing the true cost, might bring down the bill, might not - regardless, it is a good first step.

After that, reach out to the hospital financial assistance program (all hospitals have this). As long as you are making some sort of payment on the bill (could even be like 20$ a month) the hospital can't sue you.

Lastly, you could have our bill go to collections, and work with the collections agency to contribute a one time payment that could potentially be tens of thousands of dollars off.

This advice, is assuming you are in the United States.

Assuming you’re in the United States there’s a lot of programs, reach out to hospital billing..

If you’re in another country google what potential aid their may be or reach out to local hospitals or government if you can.

Asking in general discussion on this game isn’t really the appropriate place, even asking online friends isn’t the best idea unless you want to lose the online friends.

If it’s something where she needs ongoing specialty meds, most pharmaceutical companies have a patient assistance program depending on medical condition, finances etc. Even meds that are thousands of dollars a months you could get assistance with.

Online searching and a lot of reading is your friend in this situation.

Wishing you and your mom the best

Along with this, as long as you pay something, anything, theres generally not much they can do. Had 2 of my friends do this. They only paid 20-50 a month and that kept the hounds off. Because they were at least paying something versus nothing. Then they saved up the rest while doing that, and paid off in full.

Most hospitals have programs where you are able to apply for financial aid. You could request this paperwork from a social worker at the hospital. It might also help if you apply for some type of state insurance. You don't state whether she had any type of insurance or not. If she does not many of the hospitals will negotiate bills based upon an individual being uninsured.

Graved. This is not the platform for it, neither was my email inbox or the 16 notifications you sent me asking this here....

Whilst I'm sure many sympathise here, Torn is not for soliciting real world funds.
