So the addiction mitigation special says the following:

This upgrade will reduce the negative effects that addiction causes by 2%. Addiction will have less of an impact on your battle stats, employee effectiveness, and education / gym access.

Im really curious how does it affect employee effectiveness exactly? I read the wiki but there's not enough inform with regard to employee effectiveness, or at least not enough to satisfy my curiosity.

It affects it by 2%, tried tested and confirmed. Although I've heard of conflicting information, requests of data have been... well... non existent.

The only thing I've seen ran and confirmed it doesn't affect if when you get kicked from education. So druggies beware.

All said tho:

The wiki is a player run project, the devs have zero input so you should never take what is said on the wiki as the law of the land. Because it's not. The wiki is constantly updated to provide the information that we as players have confirmed, and in the rare instant a dev does comment, it gets updated with that.

From your experience, which one of the two specials (Addiction Mitigation vs. Employee Effectiveness) is more useful in regards to well.... Employee effectiveness. The second one increases EE by 1 point per upgrade(which doesn't seem like much) so I was thinking whether AM would be a better spend of merits.

addiction mitigation. EE is something that doesn't offer much benefit to the player unless you're trying to min/max brown nosing the boss or something. Even then, it's not worth the merits. There's much more beneficial merit investments.

As a director, I think EE translates way more into company revenue than AM would. You would notice a difference with AM, but it's more useful the more drugged you are. In general if you're concerned about helping the company you're never going to be drugged enough for AM.

In my opinion:

  • You upgrade EE to help out your company/director, increasing the revenue.
  • You upgrade AM to help out your faction/leader, increasing your stats while addicted.

For example, I have 10/10 AM. Works really well for a higher addiction level.

AM seems to also slow down the negative employee effectiveness so you can rehab less often while staying at reasonable levels
