i know i am a new player but i have just 1 simple question
is it actually worth it buying and selling points or a huge waste of time

As of right now, no. Do not invest in points a source of financial gain or financial storage.
They recently removed the ability to sell points back to the system removing the guaranteed buy back price so now there's no cap on the lowest value they can drop to. The market is saturated and there is not enough use for points so they will continue to drop until changes are made/if changes are made implementing something worth while to spend points on.
If you need them for refills or to acquire a display case or bazaar, just buy the amount you need.

Points are worthwhile to use for gym gains, chains, and such. But selling them is risky AF. You will absolutely be mugged of you sell too many at once. Sell in batches.
But with the price crash, selling Points isn't as big as it used to be. Better to just use them.
