Why can't you buy an sell stock when traveling? That seems primitive in this day and age ! Anywhere else in the world you can do business while in flight or traveling to other locations.

Torn isn't the real world.
Traveling is meant to lock you out of certain aspects of the game. The same reason you can't access the casino while traveling, or tend to faction/company business..
Plus if you go to jail someone breaks you out real quick ! In the real world jail breaks are rare and are rarely successful !

Stocks are an unlimited vault essentially. If people were able to buy sell stocks freely in the air (where they're 100% safe from mugs), then it'd be a huge nerf to mugging. Everyone could just fly while trading, no one would have any fear of mugs when landing since they could just take out money when they were online to buy.
So you can't trade stocks when flying.
This makes sense.
Thought the price of the golden Laptop would be a fair price for mug protection for plushie runs.
Totally forgot about Rehabs when you have to carry a bit more money on hand.
