I was asking you to stop and think about it so you could understand what you were saying was incorrect.
The money is transferred to players. The points, not the money, leaves the game. The money amount doesn't change, it's just transferred from one player to another in exchange for points. I hope that clarifies for you.
OH THE POINTS LEAVE THE GAME! And it's not like points are just a secondary currency obtained by exchanging Torn Dollars. .
No, things were crystal clear right from the beginning, bud. Krystical's point, that you responded to, was absolutely correct (albeit likely only in the short run).
I don't quite understand what you're not grasping here. I'll try and make it simpler.
Player A buys $1m worth of points from Player B.
Player A then uses the points and these leave.
Player B still has the $1m.
No money has left the game, and the total amount of money in the game remains the same.
This is what we are describing, which is where Kystical is mistaken, since their claim of more money leaving the game due to higher point value doesn't actually change how much money leaves the game. Since no money leaves the game. Because points aren't bought from the game, but from other players.
The price of points could be $45, $45k or $450k, it doesn't change how much money leaves the game. You can change that $1m hypothetical figure to any number you like if that helps make it easier to realise, since it's always the same value remaining at the end.
I hope that was sufficient for you.
Personally, i hate all the effort that went into earning them tokens and unlocking honor bars is now as easy as spending 16k points im pissed by this not because (mostly) everyone can just buy them now, but because all the effort I put in could have been saved. Pretty bad downgrade to fix a problem but otherwise whatever I guess just my dumbass take.
I'm just annoyed that I cannot see which honor bar unlocks at which level.
Someone tell me the "survive a rollback" one is there somewhere with a big price tag? :)
Edit: Thanks for the $1 someone, I remembered the list was on page 1 after I posted... and am dissapointed no purchasable time traveller merit - that could have been a really expensive purchase :)
You can either plant a potato farm and wait for it to harvest (wait for your bar to fill up) or go buy a sandwich for $5 (get a refill).
It seems like by your logic you think that buying a sandwich for $5 means the IRS comes and snatches $5 out of your hands and runs away.
But you're consciously choosing to pay money to other players for a 2ndary currency (points) which then gets you the good you seek (refill), your money is passed on to someone else to buy other things with, and YOU get an expedited service instead of waiting on your potato farm.
Don't want money to leave your pocket? Don't spend it.
Or you can pull a sneaky and invest a buncha billions into the points stock block until you have enough to cover your refills weekly and you won't even believe it, but the stock block stays yours, and gives you free points :O surely you won't complain about that???
Tbf doesn’t a tiny bit of money leave the game when players buy plushies/flowers?
"Oh Laaaaaadies?" *twirls mustache*

That number easily doubles if you account for travel tickets/airstrips. However, discussion is about extra $225k. I.e. disappearance of $45k per point, which is far more than flush acquisition/travel costs. This would make bogie objectively correct.
However, the claim about most of money spent on points leaving game is actually correct as most of point price goes to flush runners who spend it on money-erasing stuff (xanax and the like) rather than investing it (as old players usually do). Hence, the more points cost and the more points are used, the more money gets erased.
At least can we expect Elims and Dog Tags honor bars to be available at the Points Building?
Also Allure and Time Traveller maybe? 🙏
I don't understand why people think this is temporary.
First, refills now cost and extra 20%. That is permanent for every refill.
Second, new players join every day which means every day lots of players become wealthy enough to buy merits, honours and cosmetics with points. It's a permanent solution.
So what happened to everyone's competition tokens?
It is a permanent solution, with a short term spike and a long term small expenditure. When they are calling it a temporary solution they mean the ongoing impact.
(Right now loads who already play and are after the awards are buying them because they can - the ongoing purchases will depend on enough new players actually caring about buying those awards and staying around long enough to level up and buy them)
Yes it will use up points on an ongoing basis - just like the "buy a merit every 2 levels" did before. There was a big spike of those being purchased when points dropped and people who still needed/wanted them could buy them cheap - which tapered off back to normal levels afterwards.
17 pages of backdrops and 11 of hairstyles. Oh well
STOP SHOWING OFF OOOK 🤬
Let's not miss the reason for this development, and that is to address the fall in price of points after it's removal from pawn shop.
All other avenues where cash enters and leaves the game seems to be intact.
Most of us were clamoring for points sink and here we have it. So let's enjoy it for its advantages and disadvantages.
