I've been thinking about unique outcomes lately, and I was curious to see if anyone else has noticed a trend. It seems like the number of unique outcomes for certain crimes has been on the low side, especially the most recent ones.

For example, while the first five crimes (SFC, Bootlegging, Graffiti, Shoplifting, and Pickpocketing) have a combined 156 unique outcomes, the next seven (Card Skimming, Burglary, Hustling, Disposal, Cracking, Forgery, and Scamming) only have 45. In fact, five of those seven crimes don't have any unique outcomes at all!

I know Sugarvalves is a busy guy, and creating unique outcomes must be a lot of work. I'm just wondering if there's any particular reason for this discrepancy, or if it's something that might be revisited in the future.

It would be good to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Are there any crimes you want to see more unique outcomes for, or any specific rewards that should be added as a unique outcome to a particular crime?

have no real input being new , but i noticed that i did really well in search for cash for the first two days ,  last two days has been a drought for anything  except scrap metal ,  pipes and batteries .

Graffiti does have uniques..

It kind of makes sense why some crimes dont have uniques.

However, I would have expected some for scamming. Makes sense that there would be unique outcomes for certainscams, just like IRL

They should have the economist switch to creating unique outcomes...

since he is so good at coming up with complete bullsh*t

i am still missing one of the more elusive shoplifting unqiues and then would have all.
What we realy need honestly is honors corresponding to the number of uniques you collected and give the whole mechanic a bit more of a valuable job as well

Stupid question, but is sugarvalves paid for all he does? Also weren’t the crimes all written by Alice and coded by other people? Or does sugarvalves have a say?

I guess I forgot how many there were, been grinding for the merits. I figured there could be more due to the reputation levels that I achieved

For something that's been in consideration for a decade and active development since at the very latest 2017, crimes 2.0 sure is lacking in content.

Went from the most in depth crime (search for cash) to literally just spam click button. The recent crimes (other than scamming, it's kinda decent) have all been kinda just "no thoughts, spam button" with no real engagement nor tactics.

Honestly, it actually seems quite logic:

Search for Cash, Graffiti, Shoplifting, Pickpocketing, Burglary, Disposal - crimes done outside, you find stuff.

Cracking, Forgery, Scamming - crimes done inside, you don't find stuff.

Only Bootlegging breaks this logic.

he is paid, yes

ash (sv) ultimately wrote all the crimes results you see, with editting by others like princessjulie

a monumental task honestly, the amount of writing is insane.

no idea why alice was credited for years in changelogs as writing the crimes; maybe that was to keep people off ash's back

blockhead77 [2539580]

Oh cool, I’m glad considering all those newspaper articles.

How do you know he wrote them all ‘though? Why was Alice given the credit if that is the case?

XxKaileexX [1887242]

I was under the impression that Alice was writing the majority of results over time and Sugarvalves helped with a lot of results more recently, including all the limited-time "event" crime results that so few people noticed and received.

It makes more sense to have multiple writers for outcomes to keep the fluff text from becoming too stale, both with new outcomes that you can read and with writing style and humor.

Then again I'm probably wrong but who cares about that since this is the forums and people talk out their ass all day, every day, anyway.

It actually surprised me that Scamming had no uniques.

You could have had:

Cash, because, well, scamming.

Business Class Tickets from the lonely people you scam in the love crime, or, you know, the vacation sub crime.

FHC from the lonely people in the love crime.

A drug pack or something from the delivery sub crime.

Regardless, the fact there isn't at least a 10m unique for cash from scamming blew my mind.
