Unable to leave Desktop Mode in Safari Mobile

    Toggling desktop again after fixing the issue repeats the bug. Clearing cache a second time fixes it. Cheers

While viewing Torn in Safari on the iPhone, I changed to Desktop Mode. Once changed there seemed to be no way to change it back.  I cleared Safari History and Website Data, which returned the view to the normal Mobile mode. Then verified the problem persisted by changing back to Desktop Mode.

 

Workaround: Clear Safari History and Web

By Incognito Mode are you referring to Google or Chrome app? If so then no the problem doesn’t show up on those apps. Only using Safari. If you are referring to Safari’s Private mode then yes the issue occurs there too

Does it bring back the desktop view toggle if you switch to desktop mode again?

Same is happening for me, Android, Firefox Beta 131.0b6

 

clearing cache within the app, ans clearing the cache in the android apps settings, has not fixed it

Yes, can confirm issue still exists using iPhone with Safari. I can't speak for anyone else, but as the OP, the issue only appeared on Safari, not using google, chrome, tornPDA, etc.

And to confirm, this is still happening in Private window of Safari? Someone else reported this issue and it was a local issue that was solved by clearing cache and cookies for Torn.

Yes, it still happens in both Private and Normal windows of Safari.  I can correct the issue by Clearing History and Website Data in Safari Settings

Still broken for me and quite annoying. Once activated, desktop mode cannot be deactivated anymore unless I clear torn's site data. That means logging in again and losing some user settings.

this is still occuring; it is extremely difficult to play on mobile for this event due to this bug.

 

edit: this only resolves temporarily if you not only delete your cache, but ALL SITE DATA, which as a userscript user is just extremely inconvenient
