I have set the preference to weekend  and still I have been matched on weekdays .. with a clearly stronger faction

09:10:38 - 17/09/24 Goddamn_luck changed the faction's ranked warring scheduling preference to Weekend

12:00:21 - 17/09/24 The ranked war between Killing spree and Torn City Cartel will begin in 56 hours at 20:00:00 - 19/09/24

It's a 'preference', not a 'setting'. The system will try to match you on your preference but if there aren't enough factions to make it work for everyone who set it weekends - some (you) will get matched with a weekday war instead. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been matched this week.

There also isn't that much of a difference between your faction and theirs. Member count, rank, and if you've fought in the last 6 weeks I believe. You can see the matchmaking criteria here: https://wiki.torn.com/wiki/Ranked_War#Matchmaking

should change your name to  no_goddamn_luck :D

the weekend / weekday is a preference with a strong bias to weekday

What is the point for fighting a losing battle , I would rather settle for no war .. our members are still recruits can't able to attack untill 16 hours of war start . We will be just ignored because we are small faction

Them's the breaks.

This all is mainly why it's usually better to join a larger more established faction or cache farm and earn some cash/grow a bit, at least until you're strong enough to essentially carry a new faction on your back.

The other faction looks like they mainly did that as their leader/colead are basically the only ones there that can overwhelmingly overpower you. Everyone else there looks just as new as you are.

The most important question here is, why are you "leading" a faction when you don't even know basic stuff like this.

The blind shouldn't be leading, stop being a dork, join a real faction, learn how the game works, raise some funds and then start thinking about making a faction. You're hurting not only yourself but more importantly the clueless members you should be helping instead of sabotaging them.

Just be happy your not heavily out stated like us lol they got two 2b 1.5b 1b 700m and 300m while I'm the biggest at 700

This is how matchmaking works in every online game.

The bigger the user base, the more likely that games will be evenly matched for skill base, language, time, etc.

If it was a strict rule set, you might wait weeks or months to find a march with appropriate time. Or worse you may get vastly outmatched skill wise.

There has to be a compromise, especially with the limited amount of factions in the game which is further subdivided by rank.

100% fully working as intended, per Ched.

That's right, there is no real 'matchmaking' involved. This is Ranked Warring, where your faction fights other factions based on rank alone to determine where your faction places. Just like any ranked system, unfair matchups will be common, and fully intended. Assuming both factions are similarly sized, no other factors matter - if your faction's rank is close to their faction's rank, you'll be warring them at some point, even if they're actually ten times stronger.

If we were going to change the system to match factions based on stats and activity e.t.c, the rankings wouldn't work. They'd effectively just be casual exhibition matches with no possible competition or leaderboards involved.

However, time and time again, we run into so many situations on Torn where there is clearly a miss pairing between two factions.

Just like any ranked system, we're not trying to pair you with another faction that's closely matched to your faction, we're simply matching you with a faction of a similar rank. It's pretty much as simple as that. With a limited pool of factions and matchups only occurring weekly, this will always be a problem. But I stress once again, this is how ranked systems work.

You can find Ched's post on that here:

Matchups are determined by faction ranks. That's how ranked ladders work. Winning moves you up the ladder, losing moves you down the ladder.

If we want actual matchmaking - attempting to match factions only ever against very similar factions, we'd have to lose the ranked ladder as there would be no way to rank anybody, because we'd only ever know how factions deal with their very similar counterparts. It'd no longer be called "Ranked warring" as no ranks would be involved.

There is no 'intelligent' matchmaking, such a system is incompatible with a ranked ladder. You get matched with a faction close to your rank, and that's it.

We're not trying to match factions in terms of their capability, we're matching them by their division, so that their rank & division end up representing their capability.

Put very simply, if your faction is within +1/-1 division range of another faction, you can be matched with them, even if they're a million times stronger. That is by design, because that is how ladder systems work.

Because eventhough you are small, money is still money silly. Regardless how fast and slow they win, they only can gain 2-3 max caches. And if you lose with decent war points, you gain 1-2 caches. Yeah yeah eventho unranked.

Offer them some of that 1-2 caches money. Or buy win from them.

If they still insist not to term, link them my reply. Maybe they can use some brain and calculator.

Most noobs are dumb as f**k tho

DedeSiregar [2430598]

Sounds like my match this week. Only I am slightly morethan 2b and unmatched high activity.

I wanna sell lose tbh so my boys can chill n casually learn the ropes.

But the opponent has the audacity to ask 60% of the loot. Istg some noobs are .....

YourDad [1317930]

shit iv been outmatched by over  1 trillion + stats in rank wars

we had 30b total stats combined all members they had a member with 1 trillion stats alone plus 500b in other members combined at almost 2trillion stats vs 30billon stats

^ that's an out stat match lol

aMiniCowPie [2283132]

My last war had a similar situation. Most of my guys could only hit three of their's. At that point, it's strategy. We lost still, but we put up one hell of a fight.

Ditto. He also needs to have clearer common sense in general because OP quite literally asked me to lend them $25m out of the blue a week ago. I don't know them, and they don't know me, so why even ask me in the first place? Not to mention they had some bounties with allegations of being a faction vault thief, which only made things much more awkward. Of course, I wasn't exactly mad, because at the end of the day nothing of value was lost, but I was still baffled by how a newbie can think this is normal.

I ain't gonna drag this on, but OP, please actually learn the game; 'read the room' as they say, understand how things work, ask for advice, learn the game through less 'exciting' but still important roles and have common sense. Based from when you messaged me and from this thread, you are pretty much clueless and blindly doing your own thing without acknowledging the impact of each and every action. And ignorance is not a bliss in this game. You are still a newbie, and you still have time to salvage this out, because the more you progress through the game and through the levels, the harder it will get for you to get on the mid/endgame. Otherwise, you might as well just restart (delete your current account and create a new one). Again, your actions have an impact on you, and a much bigger one than you could think. People don't want to associate with someone who doesn't know what they're doing and with allegations of being a fac vault thief, and it's up to you whether or not you'll keep up with such behavior. If you don't want to be known as a "f**king idiot", actually learn to play the game. Otherwise, your loss.
