i've been reading some of the archives, and i thoroughly enjoy the creativity that went into creating it all. even current happenings are written about in the newspaper like its actual city lore! i hope maybe one day i can contribute something to it as well.
what are your favorite parts of torn lore? are you here to make history? or do you not care too much for the dance and song?

It's great, and I love to hear that you like the lore, but song and dance, as you put it, tend to dissolve after a couple of years.
I don't know about torn city Lore, but I create my own Lore with GFX SIG
Was thinking the same funny enough, even if you go through some of the item descriptions they'll references things that aren't directly interactable with the player. Makes it feel more like an actual virtual world.
that makes a lot of sense! and it also depends on the person i bet. when i reach lvl 100 im going to assassinate ched and become the reigning Big Boss Man though, just watch me B)

I love the lore that if you are on a P.I. Chances are that you are actually in Cuba as all the islands near torn were bought decades ago. Or you are just buying a timeshare with a couple other players.

The idea that Factions in Torn is basically "What if a bunch of Warlords are given the sensibilities of British MPs"
That being:
Sure they're a bunch of drug addled miscreants huffing on paint chippings, armed to the teeth with every weapon imaginable, and are on each others throat's, But they're still do "common politicking" for Torn such as "Building Parks and Sewer Systems" and do have plenary discussions with Ched and the rest of the council.

My favourite part of the lore is the fact Torn exists in the continental United States, but was ejected from the Union, and is an independent city-state in North America.
I’m a huge fan of the fact that apparently the rehab facility we all visit in Switzerland uses experimental treatments to allow us to rehab so fast. However, the side effects are unknown, so that’s why they are only willing to test in on people flying in from Torn (our lives are worthless)
Also read on the flight flavour text sometimes ago that the reason Switzerland is where we do Rehab is because Torn City funded that Hospital.
I think I saw it a few days ago when I flew back to Torn from definitely not Switzerland (for some reason)
