Sign Ups Open - 5 Torn Wide Events 4 November!-TTT

Hello All, I hope you're having a good October so far, if you're in an area with inclement weather though my thoughts and prayers are very much with you!

I'm doing these competitions for Torn's 20th anniversary, I hope you have fun with them, if you join or not it's up to you, but just trying to have people enjoy the month. :)

Very important caveat - if M'aol's summoning this Halloween creates more chaos or longer chaos than anticipated - dates below may be pushed back!

This post is regarding 5 events I'll be running for November. This is a sign up and information thread. You'll have until the end of November 6th TCT to sign up. 

There is no sign up fee or entry fee - everything is free to participate in.

No api's are needed, everything recorded with TTT will be public data.

Signing up is just for tracking purposes.

Not asking for or accepting donations.

Section 1: Races Throughout November
Will have an elimination style competition that starts the week of November 10th. 

First thing required would be signing up to compete in the race series here - include racing skill and class please.
Once I know how many people will be competing, I can figure out how to proceed.

Whether it'll be tournament style etc.

If enough lower class people sign up, I may separate by classes and make sure to have rewards for lower classes too.
This event will be mostly for fun but there will be prizes like donator packs, six pack of energy, feathery hotel coupon, and maybe money given away. It depends on how many people sign up as to how much I can give. 

Section 2: Graphics Competitions.

Two graphics competitions:

1: A competition that'll revolve around torn memories or a way for you to encompass torn to you. 

2. A competition for TTT winner graphics. 
Please post in the thread if you plan on competing in the graphics comps.

I'll have another entry thread created in November.

No AI will be allowed.

Please comment if you'd like to help judge graphics - I'll be asking people who have been active in the graphics community.
Each winner will get at least 250m. There may be more than one winner per competition with discussion.

Section 3: Song Competition

I have loved Torn's community song competitions - they've been fun. In the spirit of fun. I'd like people to potentially come up with an original song for torn. Prizes will be part of the event with 100m, donator packs, feathery hotel coupons, six pack of energy and drug packs being given out depending on creativity etc.

For now please sign up if you're willing give an original song a try. 

Section 4: Torn Memories for Torns 20th Anniversary.
I'll post this on November 15th, pretty much just a fun thing where I will give thread dividends. Not a competition but rather an event for reminiscing and having fun. Maybe some nostalgia will hit for some people. :)

Follow up from my June TTT

This competition will be from the start of November 9th TCT until the end of November 30th TCT. Made to be a bit late for those who are doing 100k's with Halloween and also to give a brief respite after Halloween.

60. All Around Category - a jack of all trades so to speak (making it into as many categories as possible fastest)

Omanpx has conditionally agreed to help me with spreadsheet information again like he did in June. They have confirmed they're willing to do the individual side of the competition similar to June. They may be willing to make the team portion below prettier but it depends on how complex it gets - which is where it's conditional.  I do ask if/when they post their spreadsheet that you direct questions to me versus them - only because they have two small children and are incredibly busy but also try to be incredibly helpful to everyone. I just don't want them to be overstressed with the event. :)

I hired Stig to make me a bot that tracks a lot of different categories, quite a few that aren't in this competition.

The bot was completed earlier today.

It has been tested and seems to be working well.

I will be using the bot to make teams.

So each category will have 2 teams with this competition.

Everyone who hit's a certain threshold with each category (it's different per category based on how long it takes to do 1 of each thing) will be added back and forth between the teams.

I will add people to the teams once a day to check to see if they've hit the threshold after the 1st week.
Please don't ask what team you're on right out the gate.  The bot is public if people are interested half way through the competition but I figure i can post results with screenshots or something if needed. 

The teams don't get special prizes besides bragging rights, mostly because I can't afford to pay whole teams.... but I thought it could be a fun thing? I also thought maybe teams could encourage each other to keep going when they clearly can't win one thing.

I do not want people to harass others on their team though, this is meant to be fun, not stressful!

For each individual category of ttt -

1st place will receive 100m
2nd place will receive a donator pack
3rd place will receive a FHC
If donator packs or FHC's become very inflated in the next month - the 2nd and 3rd place people will receive approximately 24m and 15m respectively instead of said items. 

The 1st place of the All Around Category will receive a SE of their choosing.

2nd place of all around will receive 100m

3rd place will receive two donator packs.

4th place will receive 1 donator pack. 

5th place will receive a FHC. 

I'm hoping staff will be able to help with ties again like they did in June? Hopefully there aren't too many..

I have been anxious to make this post. Wondering if people will find fault or if it'll go over as well as it did in June or what have you. I'm now at the point to where I just want to have fun and hopefully people take it that way. We've been sparse on events this year because of Torn changing a lot of things and I fully believe they will be back to doing fun events as soon as they can. So I guess take this as one players way of trying to make fun for others too. I'll read comments to see if there's any suggestions on improvements that would be good to implement. Between the 5 events I'm anticipating spending about 12 to 15 billion in prizes. I'm hoping this will be fun for new players and veterans. Hopefully a few things that more casual players can try for even. Try to strategize well and I hope people have fun with it!!!

Before people ask, I don't know if staff will do what they did in June with prizes, I don't think we should expect it of them. Just have fun. :)
TTT can not go the full month again because before it is Halloween and after it in early December I'm having semi-major surgery and so I won't be available to do extra tasks on here.

More information as some people have reached out on discord:

1. With the surgery it shouldn’t be life threatening or anything. Thank you for the well wishes, I wasn’t trying to worry anyone but rather explain why I couldn’t extend the competition.
2. For those curious. I’m having my uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries and anything else that may need to be done removed. Example if I have endometriosis they’ll remove as much of that as possible and that is safe. The lining of my uterus is more than twice the size it’s supposed to be, and medications haven’t helped. Biopsy close to a year ago was fine. But between that issue and ovarian issues we’ve decided on the course of removing the issues to decrease risk of hyperplasia or malignant issues later. I should be fully back to normal in 2 months or less - and I should be able to stay active on torn. But I’m not sure if I’ll be up to doing extra tasks while healing. Then early next year I’m getting 2 adenomas removed from my parathyroid if not sooner because of hyperparathyroidism.. Neither procedure is life threatening more than just surgery has its usual risks - wasn’t trying to worry anyone.
3. Some people wanted to know the threshold for each category, trying to calculate that for all the categories now - most are easy to figure out with cooldown times but others are a little tricker. I’ll update asap :)
4. Note - with the way names may be gathered from this thread, everyone who’s posted may have their name added to ttt - doesn’t mean they’ll have to compete if they just want to race - but just wanted to inform. Thank you. :)

(All around category is whoever makes it into the category the fastest with the above category thresholds - because of the number of participants it may not be figured out on the exact day if someone has made it - i'll ask staff for help with reviewing logs if absolutely needed).

1. You don’t have to put what you’ll be doing, as long as you posted on here you’re signed up. :)
2. This racing tournament is not the sign up for JLT
3. These events should not interfere with JLT
4. please be good to loot rangers folks, the only reason I didn’t do more with their discord this time is even last time people didn’t follow instructions 
5. the start time for TTT again is the beginning of November 9th torn city time (tct).
6. Please don’t do multiple things in the same category- like I’ve seen people put they’ll do all the drugs … only do that if you’re going for the all around part, but otherwise you want to do the most you can with one thing. With strategy you could possibly win several but unlikely for it to be say ketamine and Xanax due to drug cooldown. More likely you could do ketamine, Mexico, bails, and weapon type for example
