Dunno, a lot of resources sure were spent on something supposedly not desired for players to achieve. Sure rode and pumped the hype train on it too.

Thanks, that's very reassuring.

Just want to highlight it already is a situation we're facing now. Heasleys4hemp is waiting this year and few additional people will be at 9999 next year as well. People will do it even without the material reward being offered - a lot already committed to it, myself included.

An awful lot of resources were put into the event, there's so many nuances and moving parts, it was really difficult keeping track of them all. It was fun keeping it mysterious for all these years, but the intention was always to have an interesting and meaningful event we could build on year after year - rather than a one time sensation, whatever that may be. An NPC event with a whole load of unseen twists and a brand new type of item, made sense.

The lore has been very fun to build upon, and I hope to continue in future years. We've learned a lot over the last two days, and I have a big list of improvements for next year.

I was very excited for the introduction of relics, effectively superpowers in Torn, and hope to introduce more every year with new Praetorians.

But yes, as the summoner, as I've made clear from the beginning, it's not worth it if you're just pursuing material gains.

It’s been the highlight of a lot of players’ time here - from the beginning too.

I do think Prox got shafted a bit with the delays, emergent gameplay which is the core of torn, but bastardry nonetheless when coupled with the lack of reward.

Would a non-tradable collectible serve a middle purpose? Has no material value but recognises the lengths Prox (and other summoners) went to, at least!

For what it's worth, Proxima took the #2 spot on my "how well known are you among the playerbase" ranking, overtaking Bodybagger yesterday who has held the spot for a loooong time and is dangerously close to taking bogie's spot.

(As measured by a mock survey of 500 random active players)

As the summoner, wouldn't getting a merit make sense? It's not material gain, and it's something achievable but hard to get and rare, and it'd convince a lot of the older players to save treats to summon M'aol.

Hazimil [2865965]

Perhaps having the option to "Exchange X amount of treats" instead of "exchange all", that way could still keep the 9999 limit, but allow players to exchange a handful, go trick and treating and then build back up.

themainman [1629262]

Awe I wanted to make the suggestion on how to improve it first!

I think it should be changed from it needing 1 person to get to 9999 treats and instead have it as a community wide goal where we can sacrifice treats to achieve the summoning. Idk what a good number would be especially since ive no clue how many treats were gotten this year from attacks but if it requires 1m treats to summon them all through the community sacrificing them it could potentially be better

You will still get the newer basket which prox has after you sacrifice 9999 treats into the pool and maybe get a merit too called "The Awakening"

I wouldnt want this change to take effect until after Heasleys4hemp gets to do the summoning as he deserves to do it the current way but from 2026 onwards I think it might make it better

Lothaar [1864006]

I actually like the cosmetic idea very much. Untradable but distinct. No value, just a recognition.

I think new basket serves exactly that purpose but it's visibility is limited to only Halloween event.

WildHare [2173250]

They definitely need to solve the "more people save up and want to summon than can" issue.  I fell like there should also be some decent perks to saving up 9999 treats for a summoning.
Ideas:
-Summoners are always able to join the fights (they get to skip the queue that's implemented in the future)
-Summoners get one random relic, get to select a relic, or get to "purchase" a relic.  (forfeit the 9999 treats?)
-Just reaching 9999 treats unlocks a treat store where more special items can be purchased? (you don't actually have to summon Maol)  This would allow treat expenditure while you are otherwise just sitting at 9999 waiting to summon.

Heavy on the resummon. Yes the bear is rare af but it’s a lot of hassle, and at most he’d be summoned like 3-4 times a year i’d say if even he can be defeated that many times w chains and such.

I don’t wanna exchange my shit! I want my cthulu whether reward is wank or not, and f5in at 10am or potentially being stuck on 9999 without even that would be sickening. There’s not many of us, but there’s enough that this issue will certainly become annoying to point it decentivize a anyone for going for it if they know there’s a few in same boat/ treat tier which long term would mean like no summons

fuck [2669774]

he did get the apocalytpic basket. as of right now he and ched are the only people with it (quite unique), and it is account locked.

Satan [612696]

giving prox a merit, a basket affect against moal (and minions) and a slightly higher treat chance wouldnt fk kill the game man. Prox busted his ass to give us this event and made sacrifices.

look at what youre doing.

you sank significant resource into creating this event but not giving players an incentive to play this event. thats like buying a car and then destroying the keys.

earthguido [2165190]

Make attacking Maol and minions possible only by exchanging treats.

Be it by exchanging x treats or auctioning a ticket for each attack.

More treats = more chances to participate in one or several attacks.

Satan [612696]

or after you unlock the special basket for a summon, what you can do is have a special store after that where you can buy one of the random legendary for 9,999 treats

why not just have a running counter of how many summons have been done. allow anyone that clicks summon to add a counter to this when one is summoned remove a counter. immediately be able to get the special basket and have them summon autonatically at the start of each halloween event.

KPCSlor [1557404]

I'm stuck in a bit of Limbo with 5413 treats collected.

Would love to be able to trade X treats so that I can get to 9000+ and have options on what to do.

Full disclosure: Yes, I know I have given up on billions in item trade-in's and many 1000 energy refills just in case the "Summon Him" was worth it.   At this moment I'm not sure if it is, so I'll keep treat farming and decide next year or in 2026.

Either way, Halloween is still the best event in Torn!  Thanks Ched

PS. My nightmarish basket keeps talking to me saying that it wants to convert to an Easter basket so we can have this event twice a year.  I'd be happy to Summon an Evil Easter Bunny NPC as well
