Everyone saying they should be halloween only, should be a year only, should be x,y,z wouldn't be saying shit if they or a member of their faction got one, they just simply cannot fathom the fact that some random shitter from wolverines gone wild medical penguins 2.1 is going to make them their bitch with a tentacle shaped dildo.

In a game where all you mindless retards do is bleat it's pay2win, this is quite literally a result of playing2win and you all can't stand to see it because you think you're better than the people who got the good shit.

Oh absolutely. Poor guy spent years farming the treats and then sacrificed what could potentially be billions upon billions of value in items, just to watch someone make one hit on M'aol and then log off for six hours and in exchange receive a gamebreaking item.

Unless Proxima is the most altruistic person in Torn history, I wouldn't doubt it at all if he was absolutely scathing right now.

The other guy that Proxima was racing against, is he keeping his treats? Or is he just gonna exchange them all and take the money?

Thank you for your sacrifice, Proxima. I'm sorry you didn't even get a cool shirt.

Make them last until m’aol is summoned again and have them rotate to the new winners. This would make chasing the summon event not just about securing the benefit but also about shifting who has control of them.

I think they should be fully unique to the individuals who have them between summoning and there shouldn’t be duplicates introduced.

Considering the high level of participation it’s disappointing so few people got such high level advantages.  I think there was a better way to reward players for passing up turning in treats to chase the new targets.   A lot of middle ground between energy refills and the new potential perks.

I have to wonder, since these drops are essentially all bits and pieces of the monstrosities, would it all be reclaimed by them once another summoning commences?

EDIT: Answered below.

Another EDIT: Called it? ;p

I think many are forgetting or not realizing that these relics are untradable and only one of each can drop per year. It's not like these are going to be handed out like candy or only to top 100 players exclusively. The vast majority will go to players that will unlikely be able to maximize it's effects for one reason or another.

I'm fine with them the way they are based on that restriction.

That's what I been saying since Boss fight is over.

It's understandable if it's 6 months period. Usable only Halloween is not good also since they committed too much in this. But lifetime perk?? That's Absolute BS

I am the QA on most of the updates and we had a long conversation about the relics when I was first introduced to the idea of these. Initially, I was also against the idea of making these effect be permanent for the account, because I knew these would just get funnelled into the hands of the ultra rich. But given the fact that these are tied down to the accounts who originally received the items, the items have to be OP for players to consider making the effort to hunt down these creatures.

Ladso's eye, arguably the most controversial relic, was actually the very last bonus that we were struggling to come up with. We almost went with +5000% awareness boost as the bonus, but then changed it to ability to re-read books as it made sense thematically and it is something that is quite sought after from the player perspective. Is it OP? Absolutely, it is meant to be OP. Will it allow a single player to suddenly become like Deft or RGiskard, definitely not. All of the items that you can use with books are gated by cooldowns. The item will give a massive boost to a single player based on how effectively they juggle between books, but they won't become a killing machine overnight.

NEH Ched don't care about ur blue name. Lifetime perk of these items is his way of saying "dumbass blues". Duh

M0rty_ [3351630]

Torn is not a Sprint, it's a marathon. That's one of the thing I read when Day 1.  In the long run these items are basically God Tier. Having 300E and no $ on Cans ? C'mon .

MothaFukkaJones [2631050]

It's one off rare item (atm.....more will come with summonings) that attracts people to fight in the NPC fights. Being OP is the meaning of something like that. 100% this poll wouldnt be suggested by someone that won one. Stop being jealous, and focus on how you can try and get one next time.

Proving my point, jealousy gets you nowhere:

Having such powerful prizes that can be attained by anyone willing to participate regardless of stats or wealth I think is awesome. Naturally biased as I'm poor and weak. Elevating the gameplay of half a dozen people among many thousands once a year isn't game-breaking, it's just salt.

The event was ace, seeing the community so active with theories and coordination was a blast.

PMV [1577993]

That's not as OP as you'd think. You need to be able to constantly churn out FHCs to maximize it's effect, except now forever instead of being able to stockpile for a month. Those who can afford to do that are likely at the level where they're better off using SEs anyways.

The crazy OP combo would be Fuelling book with the unlimited can relic. But that requires you to get two of those relic drops together when it's already extraordinarily difficult to get one.

wont change anything over night but just handed guarenteed top 2 HoF seats for fighting/stats to 2 players that have daily energy to gym train on that no one else in the game can get, use, or substitute for. if they want to play and stay active no one can compete with them its that simple the spots are thiers if they want them and are willing to login over the years for the grind. SE stage will keep them in check for awhile but if they are active players and min max daily energy they will be number 1 and 2 in the end with no one being able to do anything about it or able to even keep pace with them

SE's have a cap and become useless when gym training is worth more than that cap, this batch of players may not utilize it but eventually someone with the drive will get one and competitive players will just start quiting the game or dying out if there is no way to fairly compete as now you have to win a rng loot drop that youre more likely to die before getting if you want to be competitive which yes not everyone cares about progression but just wait till someone with a ego trip starts trying to control torn and all you can do is bend over.

fun fact: the dude with maols tenticle can make 40 attacks a day and still have more energy left for the gym than other players

just wait till all of the new comps start getting won by relic holders and they win the new relics and so on.

torns gonna end up having to make entire gameplay shifts to counter this just like the SE cap as its going to explode at some point when active players get them and competition seizes to exist as why even play/try when the the next wall isnt improbable its impossible.

RobberHood [2361494]

I think there should just have been those six as they are now and no more summoning. We defeated M'aol, job done. It's gonna be an endless bitch fest every year now

wc_how [1311397]

I don't oppose the idea of it having a time limit or not, but as the biggest event, it shouldn't be random or by RNG, and Proxima (or the next summoner) shouldn't be the one to cover this cost for us. (And they may not get anything and this is the most stupid idea).

This is not an ordinary loot. It involves five years of effort and time, as well as the contributions of thousands of people. If it were something like Easter loot, I wouldn't have anything to say.

xMrPink [221113]

I think for an active player, pretty much being constantly in regen + daily refills being larger is quite an advantage.

Even without boosters - the daily energy “loss” will be next to 0 and the consumption will trump some that train with cans.

I’m not against it - but it’s one hell of an advantage in the right hands.
