Hey! I finally convinced my brother to play torn however we only got 1 pc and we share it , I know that if he logged in his account in the same pc I might get banned , is there anyway so we both play on the same pc but not get banned? If necessary i can provide information to prove we are different people.

It's actually remarkably easy if you know what you're looking for and the player does more than login and train. Habits, Orders, Repetitions. AI will pick up on it extremely fast and a little manual checking can confirm. - VladBull [2321305] Committee

Two people in the same house can play without any problems, even using the same computer or device. You can help each other out and play together as long as one account doesn't exist just to feed the other. If you are the same person it is easy to tell and will result in the multiple account being deleted and the main account put in federal jail.

You'll be just fine. So long as it's actually 2 people playing. If it looks like one of the accounts exists for the sole benefit of the other account, you'll get banned.
If you are two separate players nothing will happen.
how is it easy to tell that it is different people despite using the same device? does torn have secret access to nsa's surveillance system or something? it seems like it is letting people run multiple accounts as long as they don't interact with each other?
just make sure you log out after you finish your turn so that the other person doesnt accidentally control the wrong account i guess...
Your just describing "getting away with it". Yes, you might fly under the radar for a longer time if the two accounts never interact. But, If someone had two accounts that never interacted together, ever. I would likely have no problem with that. But why f**k around on the chance both accounts get deleted for no benefit, just to be able to have twice the clicks in Torn?
We don’t give information on how we find people as that would make it easier for them to avoid being caught in the future.
you don't have to give out the exact details, but based on what has been said so far it seems it is mostly just based on staff's own personal judgement which is far from the fullproof system that this is portrayed as. saying "we just know" seems like a way to deflect accountabillity.

It's pretty simple imo. Two accounts, never talk to each other, one accounts sends the other account alot of cash/high value items with no apparent reason, the other account does not question it, both accounts are online at around the same time of day, same mac address (same device). Just a few things that popped into my head when thinking about it. Devs prob have more tracking abilities than I mentioned.
So basicly I could have 2 accounts if they both logged in at different times and ran their own separate lives with no interactions between the two.

Yeah... And that's why you shouldn't try to do it lol.
Every person has a pattern, you cannot break this pattern no matter how hard you try, you may think you're acting differently, but you aren't.
sure one person might have a pattern, but it is not certain that every person will have a unique pattern, expecially in a game like torn where there's only so many things you can do.
there will be blatant cases of multis, but situations like these i am not really sure how effective one can be in ascertaining the existance of this another person.
With AI systems as advanced as they are, and Torn being mostly a text based game, I think it would be pretty easy for an AI system to detect the differences in 2 accounts, given enough data input.

Torn tracks your mouse movements across the page, which buttons you click on, what links are on the page, etc, but that's for the bothunter client rather than multi detection afaik.
More than likely for bots and multi. Most people will fall into a routine and no matter how much they try to change it around they will create a pattern and a bot will pick it up rather quickly. Think about the times where you are late for something or too tired, but you just neeeeeed to quickly log in to train crime etc. Now multiply that and you will quickly fall into doing it the same just for efficiency's sake.
