Why cant I see an image of the track when picking a car for the race? Not sure if it's just me.

you really only need one car for each class until you get to class A.
I'm aware, but still learning the tracks. As far as I can tell, it puts the car you have your highest personal best with. Just wanted to see if it was a me issue, or the game.
So you can’t see a picture of the track initially, but after you select a car, you can see the track and then switch cars if you want (just be careful not to accidentally leave the race).
