Priorities constantly change, and that's why I don't make silly posts like that anymore. Many features and entire revamps have been released since then, which weren't on that list. That said, I'm am looking forward to turning my attention towards traveling this year, there won't be a single "2.0" release as such, but rather lots of smaller feature updates. I'm very excited for that, and I already have a very capable developer duo in mind. A full rebuild to our modern frameworks is being completed first though.
Re: Warring...
The territory warfare and ranked warfare revamps / rackets update following their initial releases almost killed me, I threw my life into trying to figure out solutions to them, before finally determining with the committee and the greater community, after an endless amount of polls, that there are no reasonable solutions. If there is a solution, we never found it, and I can't put any more time into that. On that subject in particular, after investing so much time and mental effort, I became incredibly demotivated - and, looking back on it now, I realise that ordeal significantly knocked my confidence in myself, which I've only just started to rebuild last year. From my perspective, I think we've done everything we conceivably can at this point, and now we must focus our attention to other areas.
We can't expect systems like that to remain continuously competitive when most of the community doesn't want to be competitive, they want to receive the most rewards for the least amount of effort - it's as simple as that, and I don't blame them. We can reward factions more if they put in more work, but that doesn't create competitivity, that has the opposite effect - devolving the system into farming. We can implement anti-competition rules (which is what they do in sports in real life), but the majority of the community was vehemently against this, because again, it affects their ability to be anti-competitive - gaining the most rewards for the least amount of effort.
I do have some ideas for a territory war revamp which I'm keen on pursuing, but at the end of the day, it's always going to come down to the greater community's will to be competitive, which I don't have much control over. As developers, we can try to create the potential and opportunity, but we can't force them to favour competition over making money, at least not continuously, all of the time - and, again, I feel I need to reiterate, we can't pay the community to be competitive, because that just creates farming.
