Lafat's pretty much complete guide to Bits n bobs

Hi, you may or may not be new. But this guide is meant to help new players earn some side money. This is no In this guide i will try to be as detailed as possible in explaining how you could potentially be earning anywhere from 60k to a crazy 370k. I'll also be explaining how to maximise your profits. So you may be wondering, Lafat SOO how does it actually work? Hmmm. Well thats the reason i wrote this guide. :) Take some time to look through this guide. (Thank me later :D).

1) So, before doing anything, locate bits and bobs. (Under City tab)

2) Buy the items
You would be aiming to reap the best of profits. As such i'd recommend buying Bottle of Beer. But recently due to the spike in the prices of Beer more & more people are trying to get their hands on them to. Therefore instead of Bottle of Beer you can also consider buying the other items there. However there is a purchase capacity of 100 items from Bits 'n' Bobs Below are the potential profits you may get through using this method per day.

But whenever i go to Bits and Bobs i don't get to see these things. Why?
This is because it is out of stock. It only restocks every quarter-hour. For example xx:15 TCT, xx:30 TCT, xx:45 TCT, xx:00 TCT.

But i still don't see certain items when i go into Bits 'n' Bobs right after the restock. Why?
Things like Bottle of Beer and Fruitcakes fly off the shelves within seconds. Therefore i would recommend waiting at the Bits 'n' Bobs 1 min before the restock. And keep refreshing after the restock till you see it.

Is there a way to potentially 'increase my chance' of getting the items?
Technically yes. Most players would want to buy their maximum daily items bought from the item market. As such they would key in "100" at the place to key in the quantity desired. In this case buy a number that is below like "10". The reason behind this is that those who try getting 100 items wont be able to get as there would only be 90 items left afterwards.

Are there "other ways" of doing this?
Yes, there is. As suggested by Plague_Doctor [1083237] you can alternatively buy items from shops such as Big AI's Gun Shop or Sally's Sweet Shop. These items don't disappear as quickly as the things in Bit 'n' Bobs as it is not as popular compared to Bits 'n' Bobs.

So... How do i sell the things i've bought?
Once you've bought the items, some of the recommended ways to sell your items is to trade with mug-free and trusted traders or alternatively put it up on the Item market for a listing fee of 3%. Other ways include putting it up on your bazaar. Or saying "Selling xxxxxxx for $XX Chat me" in trade chat.

Steps to writing a detailed guide:

1) write an undetailed guide
2) post undetailed guide as “work in progress” so no one can steal your idea for a detailed guide
3) add more details sometime in the future
4) or dont and leave it as an undetailed detailed guide
5) get karma

I would suggest trying to finish your guide as quickly as possible after starting to write it, as this isn't particularly helpful to new players.. Good start tho.

kinda low effort XD at least add how to snatch the beer, when to refresh, the fact that it'll be gone in 1.5 seconds etc

Just rush your ass to level 15 and travel.


You might as well try to buy pepperspray from Big Al instead, if you want to do your daily 100 items limit, it doesn’t disappear so quickly.
And people use it often so it’s guaranteed to sell eventually.

To be exact, the shops restock every 15 minutes, starting on the hour, plus about 5 seconds. For example, it doesn't restock exactly at xx:00:00, but at xx:00:05. So I would recommend starting to refresh at xx:00:00 or so, and be ready to buy the items at the xx:00:05 mark. You don't need to keep refreshing for a full minute beforehand.

Basically, it would restock at:
xx:00:05
xx:15:05
xx:30:05
xx:45:05

Some of your cost per 100 items, like the plushies, are off by a factor of 10. 100 sheep plushies cost $2,500 not $25,000.

Who is buying this stuff? Or more precisely, if everyone else can also buy cheaply here, why do things sell for so much more?
