THE MAXIMUM LOAN AMOUNT MAY NEED TO BE INCREASED AT LOAN SHARK.

What do you think about the maximum loan amount we can take from Loan Shark being increased?

Many people have had a very difficult start on Torn just because of the lack of funds. Since everything that is done on Torn necessarily requires money, you can see that $750 is totally insignificant for a start. This increased lack of funds for a good start has clearly led some players into begging, something which is not to be congratulated here. Some players simply gave up on the game before reaching level 15. This is one of the reasons why there are so many low-level accounts that are inactive.

Personally, I think the maximum loan amount should be increased from around $250 million to $500 million, accessible to all players from the start of the game.

Not only will this reduce begging, but it will also allow younger players to play longer so they can get a taste for the game. Which means that the number of new abandoned accounts will decrease significantly in the future.

For repayment, the player can easily invest with this sum in order to quickly repay the loan. Perhaps conditions could be put in place to force the player to repay the loan by a certain deadline.

Maybe I exaggerated a bit on the amounts but your contributions will be welcome.

The message is no longer valid.

Torn is a marathon. Not a sprint. You work for what you have, and that stupid ass suggestion would just incentivize more people to create multi accounts.

Orrrrrr, they will either:

1) Create multies and siphon the money

2) Create multies and play Casino with the money till they hit it big

3) Take out loan > spend it on Gambling > end up in debt > quit game

To be honest, $750 is good enough. It's a test as for whether or not they can survive Torn. If they pass money test, next would be a test if they can handle the harrassment, extortion, scam and mug.

If Duke generously let them borrow $250m to $500m. The price of every items and services also get tremendously increased THANKS to the GREEDiness of sellers. So, it would be no use regardless newbies can get loan $750 or $250m.  ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

  1. If you give new players the ability to borrow 500 million they will immediately go into debt, get crushed under compound interest, and quit playing because Duke keeps mugging them.
  2. You will spawn an even greater multi epidemic as people start new accounts to funnel the huge initial loan to their mains, with no concern on how to pay it.
  3. Just type in one font size, un-bolded, and people will be less likely to tune you out.

“Well if it ain't Duke's favorite customer. Yous are real reliable, so Duke ain't got no trouble offerin' you up to $1,780,000,000. Duke's special rate is 2.5% interest every week. Treat yourself to a real nice dinner pal, just don't forget to pay me in four weeks, or else Duke has you for breakfast. Yous keep payin' your fees on time and yous can borrow from the Duke as long as yous want. But if you decide you ain't wanna pay no more, our relationship is gonna get real personal.”

How did this happen? TV station.

I think that max loan for new players should just be 10k, not alot but too much.

But YOU'RE suggesting that it should be 200 mil from the START of the game?!? that would ruin the economy badly, and might make the Multi issue worse

Mr_Mestopheles [2048355]

Not necessary.  I had a Duke loan of $3.

I used to pay $1 a week interest.

It may have taken a bit longer to get the loan shark merit but

I got it and saved shitloads of money compared to many

who were paying millions of dollars in interest payments.

There is no rush needed on this merit.

It will come eventually without having to lose lots of money.

Am I in alternate universe where no one reports a non English post and simply answers it? This was not on my 2025 bingo card and I object
