Will it be possible to make one set up and apply that to all completed crimes so it pays out automatically on completion?
If not then it seems like leaders will have the same amount annoying admin, just in a different format.

What about permissions?
Will this be tied to anyone with OC perms, or payday perms? Or will it have its own perms?
We do not plan on implementing a complete all, as it is simply not realistic to include a confirmation message large enough to include all of your changes, considering you could be paying out 100s of Scenarios with such a function.
However the process is pretty simple compared to what leaders did in OC 1.0, you are doing balance adjustments/payment for up to 6 members in a single click.
So glad to see this. Good work Devs!
It will be tied to single OC permission, the text for the permission already mentions this:
Can remove faction members from scenarios during planning and pay out rewards after successful completion.
Is this set in stone? :-)
This is kinda mixing two things which are separate now: Planning/managing OCs, and adjusting balances.
So the OC managing becomes a bit of balance adjustment, which is blurring over the already existing permissions.
This is not read out for screen readers (NVDA)
Item Retrieving
Organised Crimes
Faction API Access
Item Giving
So, I was unaware, thanks for the clarification.
It is set in stone, yes. These are not meant to be two separate permissions. The one paying out the OCs can only pay out what the OC has made for the faction and only pay it out to the participants. They do not have unrestricted access to balances and vault content.
It is the same person who can, theoretically, cancel your Level 7 or Level 8 OCs 5 mins before completion, by kicking out all the members, thereby causing you losses in 100s of millions. This needs to be a trusted person.
Is it though? It’s not like they get access to the vault from these permissions, unless you can pay out above 100% of the oc profits, off course… it seems to me the risk here is relatively limited, and any who would abuse it seem likely to abuse their oc rights anyway (removing players from roles for personal benefit, etc)
edit: you can’t pay out above 100%, so no real risk
Is there a plan to include an option to pay x% of OC profits? As in deduct the cost of used up items before distribution?
Not at present, however I am hoping in future we are able to pursue the plan mentioned in the announcement.
Some roles will require an item which must be present in the participant's inventory. In some cases, the item may be consumed as part of the scenario. In the future, we may consider a new faction armory to help with the distribution of such items, but for now this will be the responsibility of individual players.
Seems decent thanks.
So what I'm gathering from the questions after this announcement is that payouts will be tied to OC perms, which is great. Basically the same as initiating the PA's in old OC's, but with the bonus that this sends the payments out. I like it.
It's shaping up nicely!
I think that's manageable for now really. The way I see item usage for OC's is if you're fast enough to hop into a spot which doesn't require an item, you got lucky. If not, it's your gamble for profit really. The gamble will make people think twice about joining high level OC's for a payout if they have a low % Success chance resulting in less admin required to remove them etc.
Does it allow a more specific value like 87.2%?
New OC changes if approved and released seem quite basic and sufficient. Surprisingly very low on frustration scale.
This has unintended consequences. Some people are more risk prone and chancing 3-4m for a maybe isn't on their bingo card.
Yes, 2 decimal places are allowed.
Understood.
However, factions tend to pool especially PA money, to give members a consistent flow of income, even if their PAs fail. I am not sure if this could be interesting for OC 2.0 too. I could imagine this could be interesting to consider.
It is one thing to trust members to not cancel OCs (in all factions I was, everyone had OC permissions), it is another to make everyone follow the payout guideline including the choice of % to be payed out (balance adjustment is usually limited to fewer people).
In the end, my question was about understanding what to expect. Thanks for confirming!
Is this going to be a new permission, or will the current "Organised Crimes" permission be used for that?
I agree somewhat. I wouldn't want to be bankrolling the level 7+ Items really though. The people with the stats to complete these reliably should be at a point in the game where they can provide these items. Their payout will be massive profit.
For me, I think if we had both the armory function to store OC items, AND the ability to deduct used item costs based on current market value - That would be ideal. But not one without the other.
If faction is providing items, costs should be returned to the faction bank rather than the faction paying for people to gamble on their own low success rates. The faction wouldn't throw a few M at members to have a game of RR lol, which while higher chance of failure, is less profit still for the cost. Some of these OC's are giving you 10x the item cost back.
My concern is that payments can be done directly to wallets from this system, so members who have OC access but not vault access could pay out an entire OC to the participants, and that money will be lost.
Will definitely need to update positions and permissions before my faction gets access to OC 2.0 lol
