Potentially a stupid question: But can that protect me from a current bounty that is active?
Being accused of sell mugging someone, isn't something I was expecting.

if someone lists a bounty with a reason that you don't want there, just have someone go to the bounty list in the newspaper and claim it. If its not the highest value bounty on you, they will have to find it in the bounty list and claim it.
If you just attack and hosp someone with multiple bounties, it will auto claim the highest one.
Likewise, if you know who placed it or get a bounty reveal to find out (if they don't have SYS); you can ignore list them and they will longer be able to add reasons to your bounties.
Of course they can proxy someone to do it for them, but more often than not, its just not worth it for them or they get bored if you keep ignore listing people placing bounties with reasons for them.
