Members can generally deposito funds into faction bank, and faction system keeps track of balance

Is it at all possible to give members a withdraw button for funds available in faction bank?

This will improve alot of faction management issues like only trusted people need to send funds etc, and those who send can also send too much by mistake, and not to mention the delays membets have on faction bank requests

If like the deposit function in place, members can withdraw, and only upto their balance available,  it could solve alot of extra work needed for members

What a great idea that has never been suggested before ever.

What could go wrong with giving nearly every single person in the game unfettered access to a limitless vault?

GenS [1567545]

I think he’s suggesting an option to allow withdrawal of an amount up to the players balance, which yeah I’m surprised as hell doesn’t already exist, is their some huge drawback I’m missing?

JackKelly [2271177]

Yes, there is a massive drawback. There is generally very little love for muggers, but if you actually look at it. They are, in most cases, very active, and tend to be long time players. They create chaos, drama, and vendettas, which is good for engagement. So muggers are actually far better for the game than someone that keeps to themself, doesnt attack and just makes nonstop plushy runs.

Now what kind of effect would it be on mugging, if every single player that is in a faction could deposit and withdraw money into a limitless vault. Even the pi vault has a max of $1b. Why would any players ever have cash on them?

Ched has stated before that the faction vault was never intended to be a bank for faction members. The vault is there so faction members can donate and contribute to the faction (that used to be a thing.) The game just keeps track of who donated what. So in all honesty, he is more likely to just remove that thing that keeps track of the donations, which would likely lead to some factions to stop allow banking. So instead of asking for more, lets just leave well enough alone.

Yeah I get you, the pi point in particular holds weight, I just think it sucks sometimes, I have newbies in my faction and they can’t hold their money as they get mugged constantly, they can’t store it but then they have basically no autonomy, thanks for the explanation, it makes sense, I just wish there could be a better solution between no access and full access, like maybe a newbie access solution, you have that facility but only till a certain days old or something

For the low price of a stock ticker and a reasonable fee upon withdrawal, you have access to an unlimited money storage system.

This is such an insane new idea for that game that has never been thought up or suggested before! Or responded to by Ched with him listing his 13 reasons why something similar would never be implemented!

Edit:

You do understand that Ched has literally made 15 different posts on why stuff similar to this will never be implemented and it's not just me saying it?

I understand where you're coming from. The faction that I was in when I really learned the game had a constant cycle of nooblets coming through.  You're going to feel like a broken record, but teach them how to hide their money. teach them about ghost trades, and what items are safe to invest in, etc.  Hiding money and avoiding muggers is a skill that will be useful for the duration they play this game. Better they learn it now, while they have little, than in a year when they have much more to lose.

Belinda1995 [3370666]

Thank you for the history, being relatively new, does tend me not knowing how things evolved.

Most settled players with 50bil plus bank, will probably keep there funds in stocks, and use those to buy things on auction house etc, so the only mugging advantage from faction vault storage for cash, is the newbies, or am i wrong?

I get what the faction vault was intended for now, and it doesn't seem to be used like that anymore currently, so if thats the intent, I'd agree with ched if he decided to remove the balance feature, and maybe add a report summary to show how much every member then donated.

What i do not get tho, is why freshies have to run the struggles about muggings, but big 50bil plus guys gets a free pass, if you sell big 5bil item in auction, your money are safely put into bank to exactly avoid mugging, so I'd say if mugging is a drive of the game, why use cachiers cheque's at all?

I would then vote cashiers cheque's be removed, making mugging a bit more fair, and not focused on the poor freshies lol.

JackKelly [2271177]

A little bit more history for you. The reason there is the 15 second safety window after flights; When the new stocks system was introduced, all those $50b+ accounts started flying to Caymans to get their money out of the bank, to invest in stocks. A prolific mugger named pops had the sense to know that this was happening and he started lighting their asses up on their return trip. Mugging billions at a time. The collective hissy fit all these "experienced" players threw was quite pathetic, but due to scripts and discord bots being made aware of, and the fact that despite the whiny nature of the whole ordeal. They did have a point that being attacked the second they landed was 100% unavoidable. Thus the rule was created.

Now, the reason I tell you this. Old $50b accounts aren't as safe as you think they are. They are on every factions watchlist and you can bet that if they slip up even once, like falling asleep with their bazaar open, there will be a race between people trying to clean them out.

Which brings me to the point that i was making with GenS. Learning to hide/protect/invest your money early on is a skill that will serve you well for the entire time you play this game. Better to learn while it only costs you a few hundred k per mug, than when it costs you tens of millions per mug.

Heres some of Pops personal stats, he didn't get those numbers from mugging newbies.

If you want to stop the auction house paying with cheques, then make that suggestion. But keep in mind, there is a vast scale of players that use the auction house. So that will be making things difficult for very many of the mid level accounts. While they aren't nooblets, they certainly aren't the mega rich you may be envisioning.  The mega rich likely wont be affected by it at all, because they know what they are doing. They didn't get rich by accident, they learned the game and got skilled at it, and removing auction house cheques would amount to a slight inconvenience at best.
