Seeing as you dont have a year under your belt yet i doubt youve got a grasp on much outside of the basics and as pointed out all ready theres a guide forum for a reason.

I admire this, and I'm the same way, if a new player needs some help figuring out something. My DMs are open. New players aren't asking for "endgame" knowledge, they want to know how to get started. And I'm sure they'd like to talk to a 15+ year player, there's nothing wrong with someone who's only mildly seasoned saying "hey so I messed up a lot too when I was getting started last year, this is what I know now." And no matter how you play the game there's always something that you can share with others.
Baldr's basic advice is a great start along with the other 100k+ encyclopedia of guides, but the main part of gaming is community and social interaction with other players.
id ask what kind of play style intrigues them
There are some people who just want to communicate with another person when trying to learn the basics, thats the person i strive to be! i may not be extremely experienced but i have read up on a lot of guides and id like to share that knowledge to people who dont enjoy reading endless forums about what to do and where to go!
