Sawyer is a simple traveler from out of town. He’s been driving all around looking for some meaning or purpose after a particularly rough break up. He’s developed a bit of muscle and reflex from his time on the road. However, he has little faith in others and has seen the worst people have to offer. He’s come to Linder Town in hopes of maybe doing some sailing and hiking in the nearby nature as a break from things.

LinderTown

LinderTown is a Port City located in Southwestern Consolidated Kingdom. The city is popular for its unique aesthetics where lamps shine green and the salty air makes everyone generally upbeat. Its National Museum, the Lindwyrm Museum, is the center of attraction. All roads lead to this museum.

The noteworthy places you can visit is the Freight Ten Inn where it is located west of Lindwyrm Museum. You can expect to find rooms because instead of going up, the inn has rooms underground, making sure it can accomodate weary travelers in exchange for coins for their service. Near the Freight Ten Inn there is a bazaar up north. Street vendors sell variety of commodities. Police can be seen patrolling the bazaar streets, keeping in check of unwanted vendors that do not have permits to set up a stall.

If you take the Brass Street you will come across legalized shops in buildings. Libraries, Grocer, Workshop, Pharmacy, you name it. You will have to come to Brass Street south of Freight Ten Inn and west of Lindwyrm Museum.

Head further west and you will reach the Dragon Docks. All ships will have to dock there as this is the only place where ships can reach. The canals would be otherwise too narrow for big ships to fit, with the exception of a rowboat. Lots of dock workers are present to this place and they are rowdy bunch. This place has the least influence from the government as the labor union took control all the Dragon Docks and the neighboring streets to themselves.

Daffodil Street, also known as Police District, is located east of Lindwyrm Museum. Police activity here is high and lawful folks reside to this neighborhood. Mansions are lined up in aethetic look and the popular Siren Song is located here. Its a hotel for the rich that provide the best service you could ever have. Incidentally, curfew is strictly mandated this part of the city. 22:00 to 5:30 is when people need to be inside of their home.

The commercial street of LinderTown is south of Lindwyrm Museum. Its not the same as the bazaar near Freight Ten Inn as corporations are built in this part of the city. The Guinn Strip Mall and the Linder Plaza are located here. There are other offices here, including the office belonging to Matthew Cummings, his detective firm which is north of the Linder Plaza.

North of Lindwyrm Museum are the residentials. Its where residents live. Also the industrials are further north, blocked off by a massive wall. There has been some incidents where factory workers go on with strikes because they do not approve the government's bid. They created barricades and prevent everyone of entering the industrial. Even the law are annoyed because they couldn't do anything about their strike without permission from higher ups.

More places can be discovered for later.

Here lies the city of LinderTown, the bustling traffic around Dragon Docks. The salty air from the ocean is strong that you crave for a fresh cold water. Though you might consider avoid looking at the dock workers at their eyes. They seem to view foreigners with disapproval stare.

Arthur Jace packs his bag and says goodbye to the ship captain that brought him in. As he turns back, he heard something ominous.

Challenge 3: What did I hear?

Rolling for Third-eye.

4

Consequences: Despite you trying to hear what you wanted to hear, the bustling docks and ship horns drown out that noise. You just knew it is ominous. Probably.

You hail a taxi after loitering at the streets.

The driver asked, "Where to?"

Arthur responded, "To Freight Ten Inn."

The driver nods and shift their gear to drive and press their feet to the gas pedal. The streets is quite cold and barren. It gives off an eerie vibe inside the taxi. The residents wear coats and fur coats. Understandably they're not just for fashion but because LinderTown is somewhat colder than Arthur initially expected.

The driver starts a conversation.

"What brings you to LinderTown in this time of year?"

-

"I am taking a long break for my job. You probably know me from the news."

-

"I don't. I listen to Popstark Radio."

-

"Oh..."

-

"If you're gonna go shopping, I recommend you visiting the Guinn Strip Mall in Archy Street."

-

"Thanks for advice boss."

The driver adjusts the volume from his radio. The song is a Popsong from three decades ago. You thought it was a new song released until the driver said it was not. Along the ride, you eventually reached the Freight Ten Inn and payed the fare.

This is it. Your first day of vacation.

Entering LinderTown through driving.

You are from someone whose goal is to cure your heartbreak. You came from the east, entering the city through Mikme Street, a street where you first encounter upon entering the LinderTown.

You keep driving until you pass by the Daffodil Street. You are stopped by a Police Officer when he spotted you. He doesn't recognize you nor your car and he assumed the worst. You got pulled over and went into detention for questioning.

The Police Chief named Pavlov Skibidi greeted you and offered you a can of beer.

He said, "Welcome to this crazy place traveler. Will you please introduce yourself and state your business?"

You can begin your roll here.

Challenge 1: What do I do with this bastard?

Intimidation?

Persuasion?

Trick?

Use The Guide to choose what roll do you want to roll. Keep in mind your highest stat is your Motor Skill.

Sawyer decides to keep his head as he is led into the station. He's a bit surprised as he is offered a beer and the Police Chief begins to question him. He decides to try and persuade the captain.

"You can call me Sawyer. Just passing through. I heard this was a nicer small town and a place where I could maybe find some good fishing and seafood. I don't plan to cause any trouble for anyone." Sawyer said, taking a sip of the beer.

2 d10 rolls - 8 and 10. Success and Critical Success I believe.

Gameplayer75 [2805181]

With vote of confidence, you are able to persuade Pavlov Skibidi that you mean no harm.

He said, "That so, then welcome to the pits of hell where crazy people live."

Pavlov Skibidi reveals you information that the town is not what it seems to appear. He lets you out of the interrogation room and lead you to the bulletin board.

On the spot, you see...

News paper article, profiles, and cases are posted on the bulletin board and they still keep on coming.

Pavlov Skibidi explains to you that folks have been disappearing once a day and reappear one week after being missing. Nothing seems wrong at the surface but the folks that reappeared showed aggression towards their families. The Police are trying to crack the case of this sudden aggression but people aren't cooperating because of the mistakes that the Police had chosen. He wouldn't tell you what mistake but you get the gist.

Challenge 3: I can piece it together by myself...

Challenge 2: I should probe for more info.

This time, its your turn to decide yourself which roll you will roll. Make sure the roll fits in line with the challenges. Here is the The Guide for you to use as reference.

Just when Arthur enters the Freight Ten Inn...

Someone bumps to him. A preteen.

Might be an accident but...

Challenge 1: Is it worth thinking about it?

Rolling for Common Sense

9, 5, 1, 6, 10, 6, 5

Consequences: Of course it is. You've seen this happened alot in televisions.

You quickly checked your pocket and discovered that your wallet is gone. You're definetely in trouble now. With only a pound that you secretly kept in your other pocket, you wouldn't be able to afford renting a room.

You could still see the kid. Now is now or never. You started to give chase. The kid spotted you and breaks away in the alley way. You better hurry and catch him.

Gameplayer75 [2805181]

"Stop! You scum!"

Arthur chases the kid who stole his wallet.

The kid vaults over the boxes.

Challenge 1: How do I get pass the boxes?

Rolling for Power

2, 1, 9, 7

Consequences: You attempted to tackle the boxes but the result is you tripped, barely managing to balance yourself.

The kid gained distance from Arthur. In desperation, Arthur continues to run.

The kid makes a dash for it. Arthur also does it too but quickly he turned at the last minute to the right alley way.

Challenge 3: Need to turn!

Rolling for Acrobatics

5

Consequences: You didn't stop in time. By the time you turn back and go to the alleyway. The kid is gone.

Truly, a shame. With all your money lost, Arthur Jace lost a Morale.

Arthur Jace gained Doubt

Gameplayer75 [2805181]

Arthur Jace wanders around the place looking for the kid. He questions the residents and the answers he got were vague.

Little by little, Arthur felt....

Challenge 1: Uncertain feeling....

Rolling for Common Sense

7, 7, 5, 7, 3, 8

Consequences: You THINK everything around you is too quiet for such a bustling city.

Arthur looks around, not a single cars are driving by. Only people quietly minding their own business. It may be because of the curfew. He really needs to go inside.

Not having much of a choice, Arthur enters the Freight Ten Inn, with only a pound in his pocket.

He hopes he could explain the situation to the manager and just ask for rent.

Gameplayer75 [2805181]

Freight Ten Inn is a hotel with cafeteria in the lobby and the stairs go downwards instead of upwards. The folks that are in the cafeteria are having their dinner. The lighting of the place is different from outside because the establishment's lighting is the normal kind, the kind that glows orange for the classic feels. The cafeteria also has a bar that is attended by the barkeep that works along with the manager whom she uses a pen and a binder to write.

Arthur Jace build up a courage to talk with the barkeep.

"Can you call the manager for me?" asked Arthur to the barkeep.

The barkeep shakes his head and asked, "What would you like to order sir?"

Looking at the prices of booze, a pound is not enough so Arthur declines.

The manager clears her throat and look at Arthur.

She said, "I'm Patricia Molidi. How can I help you?"

Patricia Molidi is a pretty blonde lady with red lipstick and red mascara on her face. She is dressed in red and white clothing befitting for a manager. Her tired eyes look droopy.

Arthur Jace explains his dilemma while Patricia intently listens. Hearing Arthur, Patricia Molidi seems to be disappointed.

"So, why would I?" asked Patricia.

Challenge 5: I have to convince her at all cost.

Rolling for Debate

8, 7, 3, 9, 5, 7

Consequences: Despite being presentable, Patricia isn't fully convinced.

She leans her head closer and pulls Arthur by his neck tie. She angrily said, "Too bad for you, I don't exactly loan a room. The room must be payed in cash."

Arthur begs but Patricia doesn't listen. She said he can stay in the cafeteria but he is prohibited to sleep in Freight Ten Inn. He couldn't believe this kind of cruelty. He needs to find a way to convince Patricia otherwise, so he held her hand as she is about to leave and shouted, "I'll work for it! Can you recommend me a job I can take?!"

Patricia's face goes red not from blushing but anger. She slaps his wrist. "Don't touch a lady." warned Patricia as she wipes her hand with wet tissues.

Arthur looks down. He sits down on the bar stool, confused of what to do. The bartender gives him a glass of water.

"Its in the house good sir."

Arthur looks ashamed but still drink the glass of water. He is grateful for this small kind of gesture.

Gameplayer75 [2805181]

Broke, Arthur has no way to buy his necessities, let alone rent a room for accomodation. He sulked and slowly savors the cold water. He could taste the sweetness of the water in his imagination.

"Good sir, do you perhaps in need of a job?" asked the bartender as he wipes the fancy wine glass. Hearing that, Arthur's eyes lit up. He replied, "Yes please. I need that job."

"I'm sorry but without being a permit, you can't be hired in LinderTown. Its the law." shutted down by the bartender. "However, I have alot of empty bottles around the back. You can just sell them at the convenience store just down the street. You'll see a green striped awning above its entrance and a signboard that has Guiverra's written on it. Each bottle sells about 0.20 pence. You can keep the money. The boss won't mind."

Arthur smiles and extends his hand for a handshake. "Thank you thank you! You're the best!" he said with excitement."

Shelin practiced Buddhism for the majority of his life to an ascetic degree, going to LinderTown on a quest for nirvana around the globe. Shelin is a wise, traveling, and intelligent elder with a frail stature, but he has a strange disorder that makes him believe that magic is real, or if it does exist, that he can use it, even if he can’t.

Gameplayer75 [2805181]

(Shelin, you forgot one point to add to your stat)

It is now night and now, an old man with... Unique Thinking?

Entering from Dragon Docks, Shelin Awlidge entered LinderTown. As usual, the dock workers are busy manning the ships and carrying cargos to warehouses up north. The stars up above the night sky are not visible due to the lights of the city. Could be a bad omen? Well Shelin Awlidge has fortitude to outright deny it.

Since he started from Dragon Docks at the beginning, he will have to travel around on foot. The streets are just east. He should climb the stairs to reach the street. North and south are just the docks. To know the layout of the area, Shelin needs to ask.

Challenge 1: I need to ask some questions.

Challenge 3: Maybe I can go around this place on my own?

Begin rolling your die. Use The Guide to understand and choose your roll carefully.

The people on Dragon Docks see some man inside of an ale tankard, rowing his way closer to the docks. Shelin climbs up, explains his situation to any bystanders that were questioning him, and begins navigating the LinderTown scene. Being the introverted 60-year old that he is, Shelin decides to walk on his own, maybe to find a map or tool on the way. Maybe.

Shelin decided to use a determination roll to get around and find Sawyer.

7-3-10-1-2 / 7 for Extra Die

9 / 1 for Extra Die (if I do reroll it)

That’s not such a good roll for my first time playing :(

Gameplayer75 [2805181]

Consequences: You wander around the streets, hoping you could pinpoint where is where but it seems that you are in need of assistance.

Don't worry, being lost isn't traumatizing enough.

To avoid getting lost, Shelin returns to Dragon Docks. You should try to speak with the residents to figure out the place.

You look around and see a dockworker sitting on top of a barrel taking a smoke from a cigarrette. On the streets you see an idle woman looking at her watch while sitting down on a bench. The last person you see is a newspaper boy giving newspapers to the folks passing by.

You should be trying to talk with someone to learn the areas you could explore in LinderTown.

Difficulty 1: Speak with the Dockworker

Difficulty 3: Speak with the Idle Woman

The newspaper boy seems to be easy to talk with.

Vershze [3359788]

Shelin approaches the newspaper boy, inner thoughts saying that he definently knows this place from head to toe. It’s his job, is it not?

”Hello there.” Shelin walked up to the boy as he finished giving his newspapers. “May I have one of those newspapers, please? I’m a rather lost individual that’s stumbled into this merry society of LinderTown.”

Shelin wasn’t trying to make the child feel weirded out or threatened, so he kept a good enough distance to make the conversation feel natural, his stance being more calm. Shelin started to calculate all of the possible outcomes of this situation, he didn’t have much social works at the temple, so he never really knew how to commune.

”Alongside that, do you know where I could potentially find some sort of map so I could get around this thorpe?” Shelin asked, his voice like a gentle-giant of sorts.
