Biscuits are biscuits. I see them, I eat them.
If it is sweet it is a scone, not a biscuit.
I'm with you until the scone part. Love me some home-made biscuits.
Probably a biased party on account of my country of residence, but on the occasions that I do go for biscuits they're usually the sweet kind accompanied by a cuppa. Nothing wrong with the other kind when you've got a bit of cheese or pate on hand, mind you. Never had American biscuits though, which by most accounts sound more like savoury scones than anything.
