Changes to ranked warring can be done at the player level.

Recently, Alley Cats agreed to term against a PT faction.

It was an all-out slug fest, but we limited the fight time to 36 hours.

No self hosping. No mercs. Keep our caches.

There are many ways to keep ranked warring interesting without changing the coding.

Reset ranked standings in seasons, give out prizes and make rankings actually matter. Only way you will make it competetive. We have nothing to fight for, so factiobs just min maxing caches and energy output. Will also kill some of the caches circulation as we would have to all start from bronze again.

I would say a Quarterly reset would do the trick. Also do a complete randomization of territores every 2 weeks and remove the focus off of sector 1.  Dirty bomb all of torn. Clear off all the territories. Make tiles attackable at any moment from any location. Factions can fight over individual territories and be done with this mega alliance crap.

Some of you guys have been playing for 10,15,20 years. Is it that the game is really worse or is it just getting repetitive? That I cannot answer because I'm not even a year old yet, all I know is as long as its a browser game I will be playing it at work.

As with anything with time it can become old and repetitive.

That said, they've removed content and not replaced it or upgraded it.

So it's become old, repetitive and to be sadly honest, dull.

Territory wars needs to be revamped ASAP. The way they allow fake walls makes any attempt to conquer new territories completely pointless.

edit: also, the termed meta is dogwater. Even after the latest changes it is still the meta.

I agree, this is proabbly the best path forward. Could probably offer some rewards for each match as well but in general it should be what rank you land at every quarter and maybe how many wins (otherwise people will stop enlisting at max tier)

It seems to me like some things should have been released together. Why was item market 2 released without bazaar directory? Not listing bazaars on the item market would be okay if there was an easy way to find bazaars elsewhere, but for whatever reason they are releasing months apart. While I never experienced crimes 1.0 it seems crimes 2.0 also released (as it still is) unfinished, once again releasing without essential components. For me the game is still very enjoyable as I never knew it in its former glory, or it just hasn't gotten repetitive for me yet. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

I think this could go a long ways towards helping out with farm fests, however there's an element where if a war starts during one faction's downtime, it might force them into a losing position from the start that they just don't even have an opportunity to come back from.

The first thing I thought of was games like marvel rivals and overwatch that have that overtime mechanic when one team has "won" but the other team is still fighting so they're given a chance to see if they can take control.Maybe something like that could be introduced with a drastically lower respect requirement for RW, for example as long as a faction makes hits on the enemy faction within the chain timer then that faction can't lose?

I could see that possibly leading to some degenerate strategies, but maybe something similar could support some actual fighting while also making sure that a faction that wants to fight doesnt end up losing too fast just because the time frame doesn't work for them.

To be honest, a lot of us try and be as efficient as possible at all times.. maximising gains, setting alarms etc etc..

This can be quite draining. I did it myself (still kinda do too tbh) but I made bad financial decisions and spent over half my NW on RW gear and it bought a little more fun into the game again. Granted it was short lived, but just doing something a little different brought some freshness back.

The main thing that I want back into the game is the competitions/events. Halloween is a brilliant example where you see majority of Torn more active and participating in the event.

Just get gud.

Or if its repetitive idk. Go play some cod or apex type shit yk.

Or. You could be a real douche and play the game at a loss for a while and keep undercutting shit at a loss so other ppl cant sell things and have a laugh that way.

Idk. Might not make you focus on termed wars and repetitive things n f**ken them territory thingos yk.

Genuinely curious, I'm a moron who probably has never moved a territory on the map in his entire miserable existence, how would randomizing the map - at any interval - fix that?

If the whole map gets reset right now, would it not get divided exactly the same way? All the Hall of Fame factions will agree by default that OBN/Westworld will get the best rackets/tiles, CRyPTO after etc. until it's divided. Even if you can't make it alliance based for some magical reason, by every reset MHQ/NS etc. will just get the best ones without any fight because you'll learn that getting the second best tile is better than fighting for the best. As you said, it's just about min-maxing and energy output at every reset then.

I would not say the Game it self is the worse it been for years , overall the games a lot better but the warring systems territory and rank wars have flaws that need addressing , its seems over the years no matter what the staff bring in, the players find a way to bent it ,twist it until breaks , rank wars and tt wars are a great addition to torn , cheds problem is finding a way off stopping us all bending the rules of war ,

-Ali- [2630753]

The truth is, imo, it's about efficiency and game style Ched chooses for us.

Call me crazy but imagine a day that stats wouldn't matter. You and two of your folks could take down anyone... Literally anyone!! Or maybe sth like... American Nightmare 2013 (if you have watched it) just for an event maybe. Those days, only numbers of warriors on your side would matter with the guns they would have :)

Or if factions would have less members capacity, like max 50... Bigger factions had to split up to continue with their game. If not, each faction being able to hold maximum of 3-4 territories. We like it or not, TT wars could be massive fun which is not really possible bc of huge alliances and current system. Cancel the sector system (anyone attacking anywhere) then sit and watch map on fire lol

Seriously tho, I'm no expert, I just hope we see improvements soon!

Edit: Stats gone = Anyone can pick fight against anyone

Edit 2: _SCOFIELD_ disliked your post

The State of the Game --> Not surprised lol

You could just…do what you want?

if you want territories, go take them.

if you want to fight RW’s, fight them.

you don’t need everyone to agree, and if you’re bored and everyone else in CR is bored, then to hell with it. Go hard.

torn is what you make of it.

im currently working on getting a bunch of people together to have a one time run at diamond with no deals. No reason behind it, it just looks like fun :)

Temp [1281415]

I have said this a few times before in private conversations too.

Just have seasonal ladders where factions compete for the prizes given at the end of the season. Have termed wars penalized in such a matter that a faction that tries hard but loses even harder, still gets more ladder ranking points than a RW that is being timed out.

Give out non-tradeable bonuses, like 5% extra gym gains that are non tradeable so you actually have to be in said faction and can't just trade it all away for money.

Make payouts appear at end of season, and not after a single war so that factions actually have to fight a few to get anywhere on the ranking as other factions that do want to try and fight would end up before the termers.

Make factions be able to select a roster (say 50 members ladder, and a 75+ members) and have those compete in a ladder season rather than the whole factions so tight knight communities can stay together and yet have a competitive fight too. Obviously, bigger ladders should give more rewards so you don't get a shaz and co to basically lockdown a roster consisting of 10 people :)

The possibilities of faction vs faction (RW, TW, ...) is literally endless. It's not hard to come up with some improvements overall to make players work for their money and improvements in still a fair reward system. Currently, it's just a "wait-for-time" upgrade system without much dynamics available.

Hello all

i have said this in other forums about this matter before and will say it again like with all games they have a META ( most effective tactics available) so right now the way the RW are set up the most effective and efficient way to play is to have it termed as if it is not the faction loses a shit ton on money and goes backwards in the game thus not effective and worth fighting

solution: give the winner a random passive bonus that is worth fighting for a few examples would be for 30 days 3X racket incoming or 3X GYM gains or 3X travel capacity any of these would make the the war worth fighting for a few days and spending the money to fight and win

the other point of territories being stale again is again down to the meta. Defending is way easier than attacking so if you want to make territory wars happen more make attacking them easier.

solution: every DB everyone gets the map gets a reset and everyone has to find a place again.

thanks for listening everyone

(please no hate these are just a few ideas open to discussion )

thanks Boxman
