How do I give leadership over to someone else in my faction

To be clear, you are making them the leader, as in the faction belongs to them now, correct? Or do you mean, make someone a co-leader?
You can trade them the faction I believe
You can simply give them the Leader role if it's not through a sale.
If it's through a sale then yes use trade function.
They don't have to ever give it back.
