Light mode or dark mode?

I've always preferred light mode when reading on a monitor, but dark mode users are very vocal about their beliefs, so I just wonder which is more popular? And why are dark mode users so different? Do they eat too many carrots? Or does the lightless background they choose to immerse themselves in steadily darken their souls?

I've always wondered why people think dark mode = pitch black where if a pixel of white appears it will open the pearly gates right in your retinas

Huh, the votes are more lopsided than I expected. Based on these results, I may have to start making my fake bazaar and gold egg troll pics with dark backgrounds instead.

Maybe we need a scheduled light/dark setting for those of us with finer taste ;)

I only used light mode when I was younger, but as I've gotten older dark mode is much easier on my eyes, so I'm dark mode only now.

I find dark mode easier on the eyes in most cases, but I'd also wear sunglasses indoors.

Light mode because my screenshots trigger seizures in my unsuspecting victims who use dark mode.

Only old stubborn f**ks that refuse to accept change are still on light mode.

I use dark mode when I'm using my phone, light mode on PC (although I switch to dark before making screenshots).  I wouldn't mind a dark grey mode, though.  :)
