For the past few weeks, I've been getting 403 errors every few seconds, which forces me to refresh. I consistently receive a 403 error with repeated Cloudflare verification loops when accessing Torn.com on my Windows laptop. However, Torn works perfectly fine on my phone, and on a Windows Sandbox.

What we Tried:

Network & Connection

  • Not switching WiFi or using a VPN
  • Same WiFi as phone (which works fine)
  • Tested mobile hotspot (didn't help)
  • tracert and nslookup show Torn.com is reachable

Browser Troubleshooting

  • Disabled all scripts & extentions
  • Tried Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.
  • Cleared all cookies/cache
  • Used Incognito/private mode
  • Created a brand-new Windows user
  • Still getting 403 on all browsers & accounts

System-Level Testing

  • Tested from Windows Sandbox → Torn works perfectly
  • Confirmed no antivirus, proxy, or firewall installed
  • Ran system scan of installed programs — nothing suspicious
  • DNS flush & driver checks done

The issue is not my network, browser, or IP address, but something else triggering Torn’s DDoS protection.

Please help.

Torn does not have control over the Cloudflare checks, if the check is showing up constantly, it is most certainly on your end. Does the same happen in Incognito window with all of your scripts and extensions turned off?

LifeGuardGirl [3534113]

Yes.  I disabled all scripts & extentions, tried different browsers (clean from any scripts & extentions), tried incognito mode, even created a brand-new Windows user with clean settings & browsers.

It also can't be my network/Wifi as it works perfectly on my phone and in a temporary Windows Sandbox.

I don't know what else to try, but this is frustrating, I got 403 and refresh 6 times while typing this...

Can you try using a VPN to connect to another country and see if it is something local?

LifeGuardGirl [3534113]

Using a VPN seems to work. Which is weird cause I'm using the same WiFi as phone which works fine without VPN. Also a Windows Sandbox environment works perfectly from the same laptop.

Yeah, I am afraid I cannot help you with this issue in this case. It is something with your connection + browser setup that is bricking the Cloudflare checks. We can raise a ticket with CF for the issue, but based on past experience the issue pretty much resolves itself by the time CF acknowledges that there's an issue in their checks. We have raised multiple tickets with CF over the course past several years, it is always the same result, issue resolving itself in a few days time.

Thanks!
