I think it would be a harsh interpretation of account sharing rule to punish someone for experiencing an unauthorised access to their computer system.

I mean you're responsible for your account, your devices and security.

Should be logging out if you're leaving open access to your devices laying around for people to mess with.

Not saying they should get fedded for it, but no one other than the account owner is supposed to be making actions on their account. Next thing you know their friend is going to be clicking the gym and making attacks for them while he's taking a shit.

I think that if that happened, because it couldn't be proven otherwise, the staff would interpret this as account sharing. However, the rule itself only says it's against rules to be "Sharing your login details with anyone else or having someone initiate processes on your behalf"; somebody accessing your system, breaching your account or initiating processes without your permission would not be against the rules.

It should be mentioned that in the UK OP's friend has broken the law as accessing someone's phone without permission is in breach of Computer Misuse Act which could result in 2 years prison, I assume there are similar laws in many countries.
