Weav3r has created a new tool to help with buying and selling in bazaars. 

 

It's called TornW3B.

He has an announcement thread in the Tools and Userscripts subforum, but I felt it needed more visibility.

 

Knowing the history with TornPal, he's been very careful about API use.

 

Users that don't have or use a bazaar do not need to register. So for people using the tool to buy, no API key is needed at all.

 

For bazaar owner (ie, sellers), their key is used only for THEIR bazaar, no one else, and only public is needed.  There is also a button that will remove the API key and his tool will no longer track your bazaar.

 

It has no unrelated features.  It is designed to help with buying/selling through bazaars, and doesn't do anything else. 

 

For now, he's focused on the website and making sure it's working well.  Soon, when he feels he's found and killed any big bugs in the website, he plans to update the script that worked with TornPal so that it can pull data from his new website.  Once that is done, anyone running the script will be able to see bazaar prices by simply visiting the item market.  He seems to think the script will be ready in two or three days, but that depends on how smooth the website development goes, and on his real life schedule.

No API key if you just want to buy.  If you want to sell, you have to give an API key with public access which is then used to scan your bazaar.  Just your bazaar, nobody elses.

I don't know about that. This was somewhat of a rush job but I know there's tons of scripters in our community that are over 9000 times better than me.

His website interface is actually athestically pleasing to look at and find things. I'm glad he actually included the percentages and difference of market price vs the price on the bazaar so you can see what margins you are making.  

 

Responds way faster than Bizmors, though in fair play to bizmor his is currently still more indepth.

As much as I appreciate your work in this, I'm not a regular bazaar visitor (apart from $1 sales).  What I would really like to see, eventually, is a Fair Fight Scouter.  Any chance of this?

I've been using this today and I must say it's much more intuitive than prior options and the current alternative. Thanks for filling the gap so quickly. Looking forward to seeing more players use it and list there!

Smashing work, not claiming any credit but this is what I suggested, and more devs would be better off following suit on this. Have specific tools for specific purposes if possible.

Take note admins... this kind of site is good AND balanced. You list your items by yourself.

 

Not some, 1 bot scans whole playerbase constantly at all times.

 

It also leaves some wiggle room for people who use no tools to find good deals/good mug targets.

So maybe now remove bazaar items from public API and voilaa :)

Couple of questions... Does this show anywhere how many bazaars total that are being reported from?

For example I see some items have stock in 29 different bazaars. That is neat. But to give it some context, is there a page or location where it shows how many bazaars are indexed in total? Would the API key and bazaar user fall off of the site if inactive for a given time?

Only just saw part two of your question. 

 

I will never stop scanning someone's bazaar altogether unless they delete or pause their API key. But I do monitor bazaar activity based on how often items are being added and removed. 

 

If someone has an inactive bazaar for 3 days in a row then their API will be slowed down to once per hour. There's a lot of other math in between there too, making sure that I'm not wasting time using the API keys of people that aren't selling anything or have slower moving bazaars. But popular bazaars get very fast updates.
