With the recent vault scamming been happening more frequently lately, one comes to think, is there a better way at managing faction vault access?

Would it be possible to have a some sort of "soft lock" on the vault for accessing the money?

Lets say a soft lock of 10b for example, anyone trying to withdraw more than that amount will need a second person to approve the transaction.

Maybe have a sliding scale to go as low as 100m to maybe 100b+

With the RWs and now OCs 2.0 people rely on faction banks quite frequently now than ever before.

Every suggestion made to fix the problem is always turned down because Ched doesn't want faction vault  to be used as a bank .

The real fix would be “allow players to access personal vault funds” so they can’t exceed their actual balance. There’s likely at least 6 lines of code that would have to be implemented so it’s too much for the servers of course

Yeah, it's almost like the reason it isn't a thing has nothing to do with how many lines of code it would take. I tell you another even easier fix. That would be to stop faction members from depositing money in the faction vault to begin with. How many lines of code would that take?

JackKelly [2271177]

You realize there are a hundred different ways they could go about stopping faction vault thefts, if they wanted to. The fact that they haven't, means they don't want to.

But I'll bite. Whats to stop the faction vault thief from withdrawing $9.9b multiple times, to bypass the "soft lock?"

die_opfer [2012693]

The lines of code was satire and preventing depositing is a terrible fix. Just don’t lead the faction if being a banker is the issue

JackKelly [2271177]

I couldn't agree more. It's rarely a faction leader that robs a vault. It's not unheard of, but is rare. So if leaders would stop assigning banking perms to people, then vaults thefts would cut down drastically. Of course this would limit peoples ability to access their money, but as they say, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Judging from cheds past responses, it is far more likely he would make depositing money more difficult, before he would allow constant access to your own funds in a factions vault. So while it may be an inconvenience waiting on a banker to get your cash from faction and there is always that risk of a theft, maybe we should leave 'well enough', alone.
