POLL: Rejecting Terms

I'm mostly just interested in the general view of Torn's war-mongers here.

Here's the scenario;

You match for war with a faction that you easily beat (on paper). You offer them terms, they reject. 

You start the war as normal and as predicted, you stomp them within the first hour.

They approach you during the war, and ask to take the terms despite rejecting it earlier. 

EDIT: to clarify this isn't one of those "It happened to me!" posts. I'm genuinely just interested.

Honestly, most of Torn revolves around massive ego stroking. . . so it depends if you can set aside your ego for the greater good and take the terms so you can enlist next week or waste resources for the sake of ego.

Most tend to lean towards the latter.

Reject that shit. They f**ked up and don't deserve to get any benefit from their f**k up. If they want caches they should earn them

Gotta reject or you have 0 leverage next time you face them if they feel like they always have an out. It's more about the next war than the current one. There are always exceptions though and HOW they approached the war might matter, are they dumping fat stacks of cash into mercs to turtle? What's their current war score and can you deprive them of caches entirely? etc.

It isn't clear to me why we would offer terms to a faction we would easily beat, nor why we would accept terms when we have already beaten them half to death.

Unlike ODB and the 2 wannabes (Lithium and Haka), Most factions just term out of habit now or to save energy for training 🤷‍♂️

Eh depends on how annoying they were. If they acted like a normal human when rejecting terms Id probably do it wars to me are just about cash flow imo.

take the deal from the table once they crawl back or alter the terms for wasting your time and require more rewards

You can sell participation to losing team, you know this right?

If it's just between those 2 options then probably reject, like Beerstein said you give up too much future leverage otherwise. 

 But i think the real best choice is just to offer new terms at an juiced rate. Make them give you an extra cut of their rewards if you allow them to earn em. Better outcome for everyone and you maintain leverage for future deals

If someone realizes their mistake, I'm willing to work with them.

However most of the time I just see shit talking and ignore bypass instead of legit humility.

Last matchup who refused terms sent us horse heads before war.

People are forgetting this option. Participation comes free in negotiation, and is sold in war.

Juiced up terms is always a good option. I'm not sure why I didn't include it in the choices. 

Probably different for a lot of factions outside of diamond, but when we actually war, we seriously f**king war. Revive contracts, merc contracts, SEDs packaged, fake walls, flight delays, gear loans, temps loaded up in the armory, abroad chainers organized, flyers set up to chase the enemy's abroad chainers, top stat people assigned to specific targets, etc. 

If we go through all that effort because some dumbass didn't want to term, and then they suddenly decide they do want to term, they get the shit kicked out of them. 

A real Diamond RW is very, very hard, and a ridiculous amount of work to get organized. If someone makes us do all that work and spend all that time and money, and then says, "Lol, whoops!"? 

There are no amount of caches that will cover that. Only blood will. 

They should be the ones terming in this scenario lol
