Thank you! since the script link is offline it is impossible to review what made it illegal.
My big question is:

Are scripts that open a specific URL upon button press illegal. Like the OG racing start script that simply open the url with all parameters.
Or are Ghost trade filling scripts also illegal. Ones that open a URL with correct parameters (1 button press = 1 server call).

Without automation.

Basically it opens an torn URL page: https://www.torn.com/trade.php#step=view&sub_step=addmoney2&ID=10300261&amount=1

normal url: https://www.torn.com/trade.php#step=view&ID=10300261

I inquired staff what was illegal about it (since its impossible to review the script) and they said to "check the statement" which is just:

Staff edit: automated scripting

?

If you click the button yourself, they should be totally fine - it's basically creating a hyperlink, something like the attack loader opening up when you click the BSP prediction. The issue with this one is that it automated opening pages and switching tabs afaik.

Thank you for your opinion. Still I am very interested in the opinion of staff and don't want to get fedded. So will wait and pray

I did submit the code to them.

~~snip by me just in case :P~~

Also contains git history, if anyone feels like checking different versions.

Disclaimer: I do not condone nor recommend the use of any scripts / bots / whatever in the git repository above, I'm just posting it for people to check out what was illegal in the script :P

Thanks a lot! would recommend putting a disclaimed to that: Any of those scripts could also pose a Scripting violation.
hell knows what else he added to them

Guy has room temperature IQ, at least call it something else or don't publish it. other than it being idiotic to get yourself fedded over RACING, the most useless part of the game.

Why did it take 3 months? If it was against rules then why wasn't it taken down back then? Isn't it just like the auto attack script that has been in use for a long time and is still acceptable? It's auto scripting too then?

I don't think you can reasonably expect staff to "review" all the code that someone writes as a player. That's unmanageable. It would need to be the community themselves. The question should be - why didn't anyone who uses the script decide to report it. They are accomplacies in this.

Unsure on the auto attack script though, i've not seen it myself.

The auto join stuff was added as early as March 12 - so anyone who was using the script since that period could have reported the script, but i guess nobody did?

The users getting banned as well then.....

And a reminder you can use direct link to create a race and stick it in sidebar

One user action to one site action which is also grey but that is the rule.

I would of been fedded for vault lols 4 years ago if that wasn't the rule.

I have something to feedback here, although I did not install the script.

The staff has to differentiate between a scripter having malicious intent on purpose or improving the experience of the game with good intentions, but unknowingly violated the policy. Perhaps, a warning for the latter.

Thorough investigation needed to be conducted before feddng the player, else nobody would want to improve the game experience anymore for fear of being fedded.

Imagine Omanpx being fedded 😱

Omanpx [1906686]

The script had a function called startAutoJoin, almost from the start. What good intentions are we talking about here? The "unknowing violation" was in the code since March 12, the script made actions for the user while the user was away from the game - what else do you need to call it a red flag? Even if you ask chat gpt to write the script and don't even look at the code, you can still see it in action. Also, AI won't write an automated join function without extensive user direction, so it's pretty hard to claim ignorance imo.

Bogie has mentioned the user got perma fedded due to prior scripting offences. If you got warned* for autoscripting before and then do it again, at what point does it become malicious on purpose according to you? As the user was in temporary fed before getting perma fed, you can assume thorough investigation was conducted beforehand :)

As long as Oman doesn't attempt to automate Torn, he won't get fedded.

Yes, StartAutoJoin definitely is a red flag. For this case, it's straight forward. Also, if he has been given a warning before, then yes, please do.

Well my first question would be..

How many staff actually understand Code/Programming and are able to read it?

It's not obvious for everyone and it can seem very confusing to most.

I personally don't expect most staff to be able to read and understand code. And I'd also not expect most of them to need such skills to be on the staff team to begin with as most of them are there for different reasons and skillsets that contribute to the team in different but essential ways.
