I have maxed out the education time merit and am half way through the Biology course. If I reset merits now, do I lose or keep my education time decreases?

Education time is only determined by the the course and the perks you have when you started learning that course, so your education time for the current course will not change.
Ok thanks, but what if I reset and then decided to do another course. Will I have to gain the merits all over again?
Yes, you need to have merits allocated to that specific merit tree when you start a course to gain the benefit.
Also keep in mind that merit resets increase in points every time you use one.. so it gets more expensive.
You shouldn't really just frivolously do resets unless you can afford it, because later down the line it's going to cost you. I'm not sure if there's a cap on increases but I don't think there is. It would currently cost me like 100mil.
Your next merit reset after this will cost 3,500 points
If you really want to reset your merits, you get a free reset around Christmas time. If it's not urgent, I would just keep saving for that.
I want to do at least one more course, computer science or Business, so I will not reset until ready.
you're 84 days old lol
keep full education reduction merits until you've done most of the good bachelors - its very strongly recommended to max education and banking as your first use of merits
As new to the game as you are, you should gain merits fast enough to not need a reset, just get more.
Keep. Let's say you have 10 days left. If you choose to reset merits it will remain as 10 days.
The reverse is also true. Investing merits does not decrease ongoing course time. For example if you have 10 days left, boosting your merits will not change the amount of time left to finish the course.
Side note - This is also true for WSU stock block. However, do bear in mind that you will need to wait for 7 days for the perk to kick in. For example:
You have 20 days left. You sold WSU. You still have 20 days. You should reinvest in WSU again 7 days before your new course (let's say intravenous therapy) begins so that you will benefit from the time reduction. If you only reinvest in WSU after you started intravenous then you'll 'waste time' because you will have to wait for 7 days for the perk to kick in and it'll only reduce the time for the next course after intravenous therapy.
Hope this helps.
You'll be doing educations for the better part of 3-4 years if you're doing them non-stop. Keep the merits invested. Don't reset.
You're less than 90 days old, you'll gain a couple hundred more merits within the next year or two.
You've got roughly 100 merrits at 90days. I've had over 200 at 100days. Just grind the easy ones no need to reset.
+1 for keeping education time maxed out until all the important courses are complete. I also feel maxing bank interest (and keeping it) should be a high priority.
As a new player, it is only natural to want all the things right away. Torn just isn’t built like that.
Keep grinding merits. Slowly add new things over time.
