Don't start a biz til way later in your game. Get the 2b in the bank first and have all biz edu plus the biz class in math and in law done first. Running a biz is grossly expensive.

When selling items on the market, do not go by the prices in the item info. Those can be 5-7 digits cheaper than the actual selling price. Look it up on the market and list the price between that of the 1st-5th listing.
Do not sell or buy donator packs on the market. You'll get buy-mugged. Sell any dp you buy w real money to the pawn shop in the city.
Every day at torn midnight, check the city. Items get "dropped" there sometimes. Varying quality price-wise, but it can be a form of spending money.
City job education, once you get enough job stats at a player company you'll work at, switch to city education job and fast track to the end position. It's like 23 days or so. (it'll take months if you do it now so get in a player company first and stay for about 7 months then do city edu job). When you reach Principal, you can activate a permanent 10% time reduction off education. You can leave the city job as that perk is permanent.
Get the $100m into the education stock with the blue tree icon as soon as you can. That's another 10% off education time for as long as you hold that stock. Once it activates, forget that money exists til all edu is done.
Fill all 10 merit slots in education. That gives 20% time off education. Without any time off, it'll take 7.5 irl years to do all edu. With the 40% deduction total, it's around 3.5 years instead.
Power level your way to 15, Focus on education merits & Banking merits first those HAVE to be level 10. Look for a GOOD faction, a lot of things people over look is networking. Make friends not enemies and ask as many questions as you can think of
