These were our 6 attempts pre July 1st. We promptly went back to Break the Bank. Did we just get really bad RNG or have we no business trying Ace in the Hole??

Ouch. The best representation I've seen of the heads and tails of Level 9 OCs. One faction made bank, the second wasted 36 days. And the most galling thing about this is that that's rather decent CSR for Level 9 OCs, right?
RNG gonna RNG.
Taking your success chance as being 62%, the chance of getting no more than 1 success within 6 attempts is 3.5%. That's pretty low, but with dozens if not hundreds of factions doing these OCs, it's expected that some are gonna have that bad luck. If you keep doing it, you are likely to have much better luck than that in the long run, but whether or not it's worth it over lvl8 is a different question (ATM, I'd say it probably is with the new buffs)
The July 1st patch apparently increased success rate by about 10%, haven't checked just yet - still waiting on the complete updated map. The added recovery checks make it less likely to fail, and the improved rewards for most endings put it on a similar level to BTB meaning you don't make a loss by running those instead of BTB.
With those CPR, I genuinely think you have a solid chance at level 9s, so give them a shot next month!
EDIT: As it turns out Allenone had the complete map and had sent it to me like a week ago, it completely slipped my mind somehow.
I don't know why we need RNG in OCs , like "RNG " hasn't ruined enough torn lives in everything else.
Just let us make money if we meet the CPR requirements 😁
- Removed Combat Set reward from OCs 2.0 scenario Counter Offer due to too many items breaking layout
Nerf disguised as patch for UI fix?
Well, the Lvl 9 OC reward variance got buffed so that even it's worst reward provides more than Breaking the bank. Of course they'd nerf something to balance that out.
Sort of but not quite.
The rewards were balanced around their city sale value rather than their market value, so while the market value of the combat set (at this time) is ~14.7M, the city sale value is 11.54M. For reference, this reward was an alternative to the flexible armor, which has a city sale value of 9M and a market value of ~12.8M. When only looking at city sale value, it's a 22% decrease to this particular reward, but when market value and the time and effort to sell them is taken into consideration, there's really not much difference here.
Since it's not a guaranteed drop, and the chances were lower than the flex armor, the impact won't be felt as much as it might seem.
What concerns me is what they did to that particular path.
The armor rewarded varied depending on how a particular check was cleared:
- Clearing A3-C1 has a chance of giving either flex armor or combat set
- Failing A3-C1 but clearing A3-C2 has a chance of giving either flex armor or liquid armor (which is half the value of the flex armor)
- Failing both sends you down the B-path, which gives no armor and only low-tier weapon rewards (4-8M city sale value for each
If they removed the combat set from the reward pool, then they must've tweaked the A3-C1P path, so what did they do?
If it's now a guaranteed flex armor, then this can barely be called a nerf.
If it's now the same as A3-C2P and they replaced the combat set with the liquid armor, then this is most definitely a nerf.
Something definitely got nerfed here. We completed a Counter Offer a couple days ago and got the flexible armor with a Sig 552, but the crime payout was valued at $22.8m somehow? It looks like the crime value has changed from city sell value to item market value sooner than expected and as more of these are run the value is dropping at a rate of almost 10% per day over the past couple days.
We may be stopping this crime or letting everyone know that the faction cant cover the losses so the pay % for this one will be less in order to match the actual value of the reward.
Perfect heist:
Just spawned this
Bad RNG
Interesting, you also have Assassin below others... yet another crime that uses skill from crime that is not yet released?
The player who has filled this role has same 72 as me, I am in a law firm, higher CE/nnb/stats/workstats, but he has 92 in hunting and I have 6, just a guess, but could be linked.
5-7 points gap for factionmate with 13 hunting skill
1-3 points gap for me with 63 hunting skill
Are you a dex whore and have lowish defence?
Could be a good starting point then to see what else if anything influences it, I will let the data gatherers take it from here!
No, Dex over 1b, Def over 4b
think youre onto something.
Faction mate is about 4-5 CPR ahead of me for the other roles but 10 ahead on that role. They are 95 hunting while I am 52
Almost equal over the board with 97.48 hunting. Most likely works the same as Racer with 100 skill equalizing with other roles.
