Arrestable Thoughts Rule

This is satire - skip to bold for discussion. 

Monarch members will have seen the following graphic in their faction areas and discords,

Following the huge success of our Abetting Rule, we’ve decided it’s simply not catching enough of the right people. Despite our best efforts, Monarch players continue to slip through the cracks and frankly, that’s unacceptable.

So today, we’re proud to introduce Arrestable Thoughts™.

This groundbreaking rule gives staff the ability to take clear action in scenarios where a player:

• Might be thinking about collaborating with rule violators for personal or shared gain
• Could potentially consider covering up multi-account abuse in their faction or friend group
• Even briefly imagines helping a friend transfer assets in a way we wouldn’t like

How it works:

• If you look like you’re thinking something suspicious, you probably are.
• If your faction leader might have known you were about to think something bad, they’re guilty too.
• Don’t worry about evidence… thoughts are hard to prove, which is why they’re easier to punish.

Pilot Program:

To ensure this rule is implemented fairly, we’ll be trialling Arrestable Thoughts exclusively in Monarch factions first. Once we’ve “tested thoroughly”, we’ll consider expanding it to the rest of the game.

Transparency:

There won’t be any. Findings and investigations won’t be disclosed because, frankly, we don’t want people dodging the rules by, you know… not thinking bad thoughts.

Please remember: If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.

Discussion:

Should fed reports be made public following the completion of investigations (after sufficient time has passed and with redactions if necessary) in the case of high profile feddings or feddings of notable public interest

As for fed reports, im not certain as to the technical details of how that could work in regards to player privacy, i feel that most of the important details of the fedding would contain sensitive info, especially if theyre using evidecnce pulled from discords and private messages.

Not to say i dont agree, but theres also the factor of how long itd take to make these reports publicly viewable, especially in cases of large-scale feddings like with M or SMTH.

And that of course leads into whats considered a "high profile fedding". What if a well respected faction leader is fedded for unknown reasons and the members who follow him ask for details, but get declined because the fac leader isnt "high profile" enough?

Its a nice idea in presentation but its deeply flawed in execution. It just gives way to more potential tampering and misleading

Personally I think it's pretty clear what would constitute "high profile enough", when it becomes the topic of discussion across the entire game for days on end.

In response to the main post:

I have no horse in this race, nor will I state my personal opinions on any recent feddings, but I would absolutely be all in favor of redacted fed reports of this nature being released as frankly, it would clear a lot up for everyone. Those who trusted there was proper evidence would get their validation if it's there, and those who didn't would have to reevaluate their perspective.

Of course, I don't see it happening. Nor would the playerbase necessarily be entitled to it. After all, it's their game—they can remove anyone they like, for any reason they like. But the playerbase most certainly has every right to be bothered by and question those decisions, and I think the level of mockery we've seen towards those who do is wildly immature.

Well, you are a Monarch player, so yes you do have a foot in this issue as most of your leaders have been banned for being pieces of shit and Champ is still posting, so yes you are kind of commited... Load image: sick
