You guys do realise that a lot of what you see on forums—from whatever side—are forum personas, right? People who troll are capable of, as bogie put it, "putting [their] serious hat on". Doesn't make them any less that same person they were two months prior.

The witch hunting is looking a bit desperate.

Ferrett this isnt something to laugh about. Its serious, well in the context of games being fun and we all want to do well etc.

I think there is something 'off' with the culture in monarch and i think it goes all the way to the top.

Factually speaking, monarch is the best faction in the game. But there are serious grave issues. You are 'winning' the game plain as day. Why on earth is there arguing with the admins etc in the background? That is just asking for trouble isnt it? It is against the game rules, there has to be respect for the admins and the generous volunteers who volunteer to be staff. There is no need for any 'extra' stuff.

Yup, that's the long version of what I said but figured M didn't have the reading comprehension for it. 

We do realize these are personas. Surely M members realize they are picking personas that are arrogant, shitty, and unlikeable in the real world. They can't be surprised people react with not liking them for it in game. 

Also, are you suggesting Ferret's satrical post about policing thoughts was serious?

Serious to me would be cooperating with staff investigations, being respectful, and staying out of it if it doesn't directly involve me. (In terms of, not starting a witch hunt on staff because my buddy got in trouble.) Not making a satirical public post in an attempt to apply pressure.

The process for investigations which lead to fed should have a structure similar to what I laid out earlier in this post. Sadly, I would agree there's likely staff bias that influences decisions. However, that doesn't automatically make M members or anyone else innocent. If someone is fedded, there has to be some grounds for it.

Ignore sweeney, he's consitently one of the most idiotic posters on these forums, his drooling puts even revered shitposters like Ferrett and AD to shame, except he's not shitposting, he's just sharing his brain damaged thoughts.

Funny how Torn is changing to resemble it's parent country, the yookay, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if people got temp fedded for thought crime.

Of course the real crime the booger stazi can't forgive is offending bogie's friends, especially humiliating them in an island war, heads have to roll.

Monarch has a history of harassing behavior and because Uncle funded accounts and recruited other top players, they've began to think that not only are they unstoppable in Torn, but untouchable. They have flown too close to the sun and now they're flailing as they fall. 

They're quick to point fingers at the slightest error of anyone else while completely ignoring any culpability of their own. They even went so far as to try to blackmail and harass not just staff, but the Community Manager himself. Once people like Herrschmidt, Nova, Ovoxo finally got fedded, Monarch has the audacity to cry victim. Miss me with they "...did nothing wrong" bullshit.

Now, you have TheStud, Alexstraza, dAV, and Champion all in Fed, Monarch being desperate, are again trying to claim victim status and bitch and moan while screaming from the mountain tops that staff are corrupt. 

No, staff aren't corrupt for taking action against Monarch. If anything, staff have been complacent and up until recently, Monarch got too many passes and are now throwing a temper tantrum. You built a culture of acting like complete assholes, cheating, and defending the worst among you.

How was it said, "rest in piss, you won't be missed"?

Oh, and lastly, imagine being so obsessed and pitiful that you spend thousands of dollars to keep returning to a text based game where you are banned from playing. Ovoxo needs to grow up. Looks like a clingy ex that can't take the hint. 

There have been repeated accusations over numerous posters switching from their usual formats/personas to more serious ones. I'm not referring to Ferrett exclusively with that (though iirc it was in Fedded Archives he specifically was accused for that), nor this specific post.

Hence the broad statement and separation of it from the linked posts.

Good to see Torn is following the path of its parent country, much more free than the restrictive US!

If we want fed reports to be public, let's think what that means in cases of multis and people accessing other people's accounts. The relevant evidence in those cases is IP address, system details, gps, and other identifying information.

Is that really what we want? 

For the sake of argument let's ignore the fact it would be illegal under GDPR. 

Do we really want every player fedded for multis or accessing other people's accounts to be doxed? 

There would obviously be many other situations were to prove rule breaking would require identifying information also.

What I didn't expect is your reply; it's spiteful and it's hateful and it's petty. 

Everyone is 'constantly droning on about Monarch' at every opportunity because you all did your best to make this game all about Monarch.

What else do you expect from us?

As for Sweeney_Todd and MeanMike, what else do you want from them? They're no different now to how they were a few days ago.

Dunmugmeh is right; Monarch needs a change of perspective, for its own sake, as a faction family, but particularly for the majority of Monarch players, who

are hurting from this episode and who should be your main priority now.

Yet you're out here, desperately trying to score points off someone you swear blind is irrelevant to you, instead of doing just that.

Most advocating for the release of details are most likely doing so to serve their own need for drama, or to sharpen their own skills.

I dont know. Its so easy to get paranoid when playing games.

It doesnt look like something Ferrett would normally post. But that doesnt mean anything sinister is going on. I think this thread is his way of standing up for his faction and hes really annoyed.

What i said further up is true. they have to stop messing around and being so arrogant, there is no need for it. they are 'winning' the game. the nonsense which some of their bosses are  up to is nonsense. why are they like that? their arrogance is distasteful to all of us.

I think about arresting people all the time.

This is a the beauty of forums.  You can quote the thread of responses you are speaking about so that the reader can see exactly why the comment was made.  I responded to Penetration’s observation and response. That is why quoting the thread is a thing.  Conversations often result in tangents or digressions to the main topic.  This way the reader of the forum can follow how the conversation got there.  

Speaking of digression, I would urge you to go look up what the strawman fallacy is actually about.  I have not distorted or generalized anything.  I made a clear observation regarding this phenomena of people attacking the commenter over giving any substance and provided example of what I was speaking about.

I didn’t have to name the particular fallacy I was identifying and breaking down.  I  can if it helps you to understand. Personal attacks are an ad hominem fallacy. If you don’t understand the various fallacies of debate, I further urge you to go take a class in debate to practice identifying them. If you feel you are too old for a class, which you aren’t (nobody is too old to learn) you can also try to find a Toastmasters in your area. They help develop public speaking skills and also help members learn to form solid argument skills.

Toastmasters is also a great networking system where it’s possible to find influential people who might enjoy the comments of a new member enough to reach out and try to help them in endeavors of finding a job, encouraging more involvement in the community, or some other way of promotion or utilization of a person’s skill set. Those out there struggling to find a job or direction for a career should try it. It’s a great way to advertise yourself!

But let’s get back to the topic. My opinion of what the general user of Torn deserves in regards to explanation when it comes to feddings is that it is nice when we have a clue as to what rule was broken.  Instead of, “staff see comments,” I’d prefer to see a numerical representation of the rule. No details needed because staff doesn’t owe us the specifics of what went down.  However, if they just numbered the rules and then referenced the one(s) broken, we could at least satisfy the curiosity of why without the specifics.

It’s important to remember, the fed list is the result of a case. There is no impending court case to argue. This isn’t the point of appeals. Nobody is on trial where they get to present their defense case. This is the outcome and determination of actions taken to address the rule breaking. The player gets an opportunity to state their case to staff or explain why they did what they did.  We aren’t privy to any of that.

The game has rules. There are people who’ve been given the role of maintaining the rules. People can pretend that they know more than Staff, who access to tools that allow them to see far more than the general player of the game.  The people who disagree with the decision might even attempt to attack the integrity, intention, or morals of the staff or particular members of staff in response to the fedding. That is another example of the ad hominem fallacy. When there’s not an argument to support the guilty in the actual reason of their fedding, just explain to the masses how corrupt and unprofessional the staff member is.  For added bonus, attempt to instill a phony expression of concern for the future of the game… because nothing says one is “truly concerned for the future of Torn” like arguing for a cheater / rule breaker to continue to get to play!  

Since we are getting the results not the trial, it would make more sense to just list a numbered code for the reason. If we saw “8b” and then went to the list, we could see that 8b pertained to a social violation: harassment. Maybe the person broke several rules and it showed (5,6,8:b,:c &:f) Then those who want to know could go look at the rules and see the person got fedded for: account sharing, abetting, and several social violations: harassment, discrimination, and ignoring staff warnings. We wouldn’t see the details or specifics of the case but then we’d at least have an idea. That would be my preference.

I get why they don’t always share even these details because again, the fedding typically happens AFTER the investigation. (I know there are feddings that happen automatically by the system that then the staff have to determine if the system got it right.) However, once it’s confirmed and known, some people still want to debate and argue the case.  Giving even minimal details just adds more elements for a person to attempt to discredit.
