Base energy (possibly nerve) should be increased for all by at least 50.

Probably reduces the engagement of players. Leads to quitting. Capping at 150 energy reduces the net reward based draw the game has -- 'addictiveness.'

1000 is absurd, the point is a small increase to widen the amount people can do other things. Increases incentive for non-noobs to engage in side activities like searching dump or higher lvls to do hunting. This would then allow developers an excuse to enrich subgames like hunting, prison gym/prison etc. And add new ones. Overall this would improve breadth of gameplay also.

In good Torn fashion, everyone will just find the best way to Min/Max the new Energy anyway lmao

Nerve does increase over time as you increase skill(s)

tfw this could probably net admins more $ and allow an excuse to enrich secondary elements of gameplay like sidequests but everyone dislikes post.

I don't see how adding more energy would enrich the gameplay. You're still going to be training at the gym and fighting ranked wars, it's just that it'll take longer to regen everything which ends up being a negative in the long run. Idk what the starting nerve is these days, but it used to be 10 or so and I believe it's higher now and easier to increase so that's not a real problem.

This wouldn't achieve anything at all except an increase for the sake of increasing something.

I think the issue is more with it being a 5h cap than a problem with engagement. Even without airstrip, you can go to SA without wasting E if you zero it first and spend it all there mugging or hunting- it's just generally not worth it when hunting is meaningless and mugging is easier locally without hours in the air. For people not wanting to waste E even overnight, though, 5h means having no uninterrupted sleep. The game in this way inherently encourages unhealthy IRL behavior for 'optimal' growth and performance.

If the default cap was 150E @5E/15m, that's 7h30m instead- comparable to a Xanax CD.

For donator, capping it to 250E @5E/10m, it's 8h20m, which is long enough to actually sleep. It would also make stacking easier for happy jumps, wars, etc.

Either way, it's a healthier amount to sleep or to be able to sleep uninterrupted. I agree with the fundamental idea of increased E caps, but think it could be presented a lot better than it was here.

Actually allowing for a full sleep without wasting regen is the only valid argument for increased E bars imo. R+

longer regen (by a small ammt) would balance things out regarding gym gains, battle. Extra energy could be devoted to hunting, or new side quests like hunting. Could allow admins to create a sub-rpg inside for example jail (if paired with option to not be busted out)

testcase23231 [3832430]

that's technically what  things like plushies /museum get you. Broad means by which to create richer interacting elements of gameplay.

E.g. Opportunity for rare weapons or skill modification in prison via sub-activities for an npc.

testcase23231 [3832430]

to put in dumbest terms possible:

  1. ppl dont play 24/7
  2.  more e to do things other than gym/usual
  3. 2 allows for richer gameplay
  4. happy player gets to do 3-5 extra things :D
Trailblazer [2926943]

Wars wouldn't change at all since you basically use E as soon as you get it once you've gone through your stack and it wouldn't effect gym gains outside of make the minmaxers even more cracked. Also hunting needs a rework, most people only do it one day a year because it's genuinely trash so it wouldn't help with that.

The only valid argument with any sort of merit is the idea of being able to get a full night's sleep, however warring folks don't know what that is anyway so only non-RWers would benefit. Don't see this ever being seriously considered by developers in the game's current state, maybe another time if there's more stuff you could do with E.

Oh no - a game that "rewards" hard core players more than it does casuals.

It's also pretty interesting that a lot of these "dumb" suggestions come from very very fresh players that have yet to actually experience a lot of torn.
