Ladies and gentlemen of the forum, faction mates, lurkers, passersby, and even those who only clicked this thread because the title was long enough to pique their curiosity—today is no ordinary day. No, today we gather in collective celebration to mark an occasion of such magnitude that even my verbose words will struggle to capture it fully (though, rest assured, I will try).

For it is with great honor, admiration, and perhaps just a dash of awe-struck humility, that we welcome the one, the only, the indisputably illustrious, and delightfully long-winded MeanMike to our corner of Torn.

Now, it’s worth pausing here—because when one speaks the name “MeanMike,” it carries with it not only a reputation but a rhythm, a cadence, a kind of literary thunder. A man not content with a mere sentence when a paragraph will do, a player for whom the word brevity exists only as a cautionary tale in a dusty dictionary, long since ignored. His forum posts are not simply posts; they are events. They are odysseys. They are the kind of epic scrolls you need snacks and hydration to get through, the sort that make you wonder if you should be jotting down notes for a midterm after reading them.

And yet—despite their length, or perhaps because of it—every word carries weight. Every tangent winds its way back to some shining nugget of insight. Every flourish reminds us that the written word can still have style in a world increasingly reduced to emojis and acronyms. (Though, to be fair, he probably has an opinion on emojis too, and it would likely take three pages to explain it.)

So, let this thread stand as both a tribute and a warm embrace:

  • To welcome MeanMike into this space, where he may stretch his eloquence across the digital canvas.

  • To prepare ourselves for the literary marathons that lie ahead.

  • And to celebrate the rare gift of a player who makes even a routine announcement feel like the opening chapter of a novel.

Welcome, MeanMike. May your posts remain long, your words remain plentiful, and your audiences remain patient (and caffeinated).

Now then… who wants to place bets on whether his first reply will be longer than this introduction?

Looks like the saying is true, enemies become friends and vice versa.

When I was in 39th (OG) as part of CRyPTo during torn's largest scale war, Monarch was seen as the enemy.

I left my Council position in 39th (OG) to join Monarch Engineering/Mutation (WestWorld) midway and now it seemed like 39th was the enemy.

As the war ended, sometime later 39th went from being enemy to ally once they joined OBN (alliance with WestWorld)

My point is that most of us fail to remember that torn is ultimately, just a game.

If a game affects you mentally in real life, quitting temporarily or exploring new pastures is a great way to reset.

At the end of the day, alliances and allegiances may shift but your own happiness comes first~

Congrats on a new chapter!
